    The thirst is real!!

Omg you need bariatric vitamins immediately. Order from Celebrate. Your management should have given you a book with vitamin requirements, the different eating stages and etc.

    Return to work?

2 weeks is standard. First week is very sore core muscles with 4th day severe constipation. 2nd week spent on learning to eat with new stomach and new diet. Lots of organization between meals, water, vitamins and supplements. Juggling act.

All of our stools were dark brown due to blood. Just let it pass it will get better.
  5. I stalled when I went in the pureed stage and now stalling again in the soft food stage. Is this normal? Still trying to eat between 300 to 400 calories. Maybe not eating enough? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Yeah it's frustrating as need to lose 8.6 lbs more at least to get my knee replacement. So we shall see.
  7. Well I have to worry a little as I have a total knee replacement surgery scheduled and it's on the condition I can get to 240. 248.6 right now so hope this comes off soon. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Heartburn

I used to have that as well but I learned a trick. Put in a little bit of baking soda in food especially if acidic. It neutralizes the acid. No more for me.

    REFLUX MEDICINE DANGERS

Well actually I put baking soda in acidic food like anything with tomatoes and no longer have an issue with acid reflux where in the past I have been hospitalized for it.

    Robotic Sleeve Surgery

I read that with Robotics operative time is longer, and leaks and surgical site infections more common. That's with thousands of studies in databases side by side with the standard laparoscopic surgeries. Glad I didn't get it Good Luck!
  12. I am a former 911/police/fire/EMS dispatcher. Now I am a radio supervisor for a border patrol. I took off 2 weeks. I could have probably gone back after a week but it was nice to have the time to figure out foods, and supplements. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Constipation

Prebiotics fiber greatly helps me along with the Miralax and smooth move rtea. I was so sick Wednesday that I couldn't work. At these stages we aren't getting enough fiber. But the prebiotic fiber seems to work better than other types of fiber for me.

    Plateau

My doc told me that in the 3 months after surgery it is common to plateau in the pureed stage. That's where I am now. Is anyone else experiencing this? Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Plateau

    How l,ong does it last?
  20. Standard diet is 2 weeks pre OP on Liquid diet. Up to 2 weeks after operation full liquids. Then 3 weeks of pureed food, then 3 weeks of soft food. If you are 6 weeks out you should have gone through the full liquid diet and the pureed diet and be in the soft foods stage. Like a baby they slowly train our stomach as it heals. 21. I have survived week 1 of the pre OP diet and 1 week to go. I have lost 10 lbs but stalled the last 2 days. I was hoping to lose more weight and go into this with a bang. Still hoping! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Bring a pillow for when you leave. Your core muscles are going to be majorly sore for a week so it hurts to laugh, cough sneeze and go to the bathroom. So it helps to keep the pressure on your core with the pillow. When you get out take metamucil in the morning and smooth move tea at night. Otherwise you will have major constipation which is worse than the surgery. Whenever you cook anything acidic like tomatoes add baking soda. It will neutralize the acid. While in have them give you heated pads to go over your stomach. It helps.
  23. Today marks 4 weeks into my journey. 2 weeks of pre-op diet and 2 weeks after the surgery. I have now lost 31 lbs in 29 days. I am starting on the Pureed stage today and I am quite excited getting to eat real food again. I don't even mind if it is pureed because it is still food and not all liquids. The weight loss is slowing down to half a pound a day so not sure where this is going over the next few months but every pound lost is a victory!

    Supplements and such

I just put baking soda in everything that is acidic. Especially anything with tomatoes. It neutralizes the acid and you don't really taste it. I cook it in with spaghetti sauce and etc. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
