I have been steadily gaining weigh since the birth of my son in 2006. Over the years as I became heavier, it became harder fro me to move around and I had a lot of joint pain. My balance was off, and I would trip, fall and injure my knees. I now have osteoarthritis arthritis and it has become debilitating. My NP suggested bariatric surgery because she had it and it changed her life. My BMI was 46% at 285 lbs. I have reached my pre-surgery goal weight of 20 lbs and now weigh 265 lbs. Even this small change has lifted my spirits and helped me to regain my confidence. I have a supportive family. My husband and kids are happy for me.
