Do you ever feel you are losing too fast?
mgrand replied to Emma2.0's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Around 10 years ago, I lost 150 pounds on my own. I was walking about the same as you are plus going to the gym. I lost about a pound a day doing that and eating protein bars. So, yeah, that amount of exercise can do it! -
It was normal for me. I suffer from anxiety and depression and went through about a week of sheer anxiety prior to surgery. By the day of surgery (April 8), I was cool as a cucumber! Just keep reminding yourself why you chose this path and that it will lead to a better life for you!

Oh, and even though I had a real sweet tooth before surgery, I get tired of sweet things now. -

A lot of things just don't taste good to me. Even the caramel flavor of Premier Protein shakes that were my favorite just before surgery don't taste very good now. Sometimes, something will taste good to me one day but not at all the next. -

Sad but true -

The nurse just informed me of the fact that secondhand smoke can cause ulcers at my 2-week post-op. I wish I had been more aware of this before surgery since I live with a houseful of smokers!

Is it possible to drink “to quickly”
mgrand replied to PudgeBeGone's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I miss being able to drink quantities of water more than I miss food at this point. I feel thirsty all the time but have to be very careful to only drink small sips and only a couple at a time. I am 3 1/2 weeks out from a full gastric bypass. -
Slow it way down.

Protein shakes bad for you..has anyone looked at this new research?
mgrand replied to Ninjamom2019's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
It appears as though they are talking about muscle building protein shakes in particular. They can contain BCAA's but I don't believe whey protein generally does. -
One thing is that it helps flush out your system as you metabolize stored fat.

You look great! And happy! I'd be happy too if I looked that good in a bathing suit.
