One4you2belike started following magic bullet or blender ??, Problems flying?, Cost of band removal???? and and 7 others

I seem to be tighter during the flight and for the remainder of that day. I would maybe bring a protein shake with you - try to avoid eating. This has just been my personal experience. I fly at least once a month 4 hours one way.... Other than that it is fine. My nurse also said many people experience their band to be tighter during a flight.. doesn't seem to be an explaination as to why though. Good luck and have a safe trip.

For me it took a month to figure out that the 'next bite' would be to much. It was almost as if I was testing myself. Can you do it? I learned that the stuck and PB'ing feeling is soooo not worth that extra bite. There is definetly a learning curve involved with restriction. Is it common that people have to 'figure it out'?

Anyone go into surgery under 200 lbs?
One4you2belike replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well I wasn't quite at 200 around 205 or 208 day of surgery and I would do it again in a minute.... Just remember the band is a tool. Follow your diet, protein, after care instructions and you should be good to go. -
I had my 3rd fill and then had to fly to Dallas 3 days later. A 4 hour flight. My nurse said I may experience it being a bit tight due to the flight and I was but nothing more than a regular fill. it wasn't so bad. It is hard to understand the restriction the first few days... I would say just don't plan to eat on the flight unless it is something light. Maybe a protein drink.

I live in washington state and my doctor's office charges 125.00 - first post op fill is covered in the surgery fee. I was self pay...

I think the band used depends on the doctor. Seems the popular one now is the 10cc band. It has a zero fill at the time of surgery. Average time before the first fill is 4-6 wks post surgery and then every 4 wks after until you reach your restriction point. Seems each doctors fill is different. My first fill in the 10cc band was 6cc, then 4 wks later 2 then 4 wks later 1 - I go in this week for another.. Good luck!!!

What does your port feel like to touch
One4you2belike replied to slimmy120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port is under my left rib cage right near my largest scar. I have been one of the VERY LUCKY banders that has had minimal port pain. The only time it really bothers me is in long car rides... I think it is the pressure from have my ribs just push on it.. crazy huh? -
magic bullet or blender ??
One4you2belike replied to mom2twins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used my magic bullet before surgery to mix the protein shakes well. I relied on it for the mushy stage and I use it all the time for other things.... The cool thing is - the entire family can use it, it comes with mugs that you can blend and then drink from, you can put a special lid on it and heat your soup after 'mushing' it - all right in the same container.... I love my magic bullet... (costco or walmart has the best price)..... -
Where something comfortable and loose. Slip on shoes, sweat pants that are not tight around the waste and an easy slip over the head shirt.... I 2nd the chapstick....

My Dream...What are your thoughts?
One4you2belike replied to eazes's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Maybe the 'burger' is what you are willing to give up to start your new life... The 'having a baby' maybe the birth of a new life... Good luck to you, I am sure you will do great.. Just follow doctors orders and look forward to the new you. -
Do You Feel Sick After A Fill
One4you2belike replied to jaylow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Other than being on liquids (which include creamed soups) it isn't a big deal at all.... I had plans for the entire wknd after my fill and just had to order soup and keep things light... -
Feeling the band?
One4you2belike replied to cowgrrl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are really concerned ask your doctor. I have been one of the lucky ones and rarely feel my port. I like you, sometimes after sitting in a chair at work for a long period of time I can feel it. My port is visible/swollen sometimes and I asked during my first fill if this was normal and I was told absolutely... It will diminish in time. You have to remember it will be sensitive, it is stiched to your abdominal muscles. It will feel better once the scar tissue has had enough time to attach. -
Liquid Protein 42gms per 3oz
One4you2belike replied to whaletail's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The nutritionist at my docs office said that anything over 30 grams cannot be absorbed at one time... you may want to check.. no sense in wasting a few grams...
