Waiting to see some scale mivemeny

Don't be discouraged about being on the "slower" end of losing weight. When I went in for my surgery, after following my liquid diet and other adjustments they asked me to make before my surgery, I was already down to 168. When I came out of surgery and went home, I weighed over 180. It took weeks before I got back down to my pre-surgery weight. But once I got there, the weight was regularly coming off. -
Wondering if any CPAP users have had difficulty using their machines after surgery? So I was advised by my surgeon to bring my CPAP machine to have after surgery. I brought it with me but they never hooked me up to it. After being discharged, I admit I got lazy and didn't bother setting it back up and now I am almost 3 weeks post op and attempted to use it the other night. I ended up taking off my mask in the middle of the night because I found that my stomach was cramping in almost the same ways when I accidentally eat and drink my protein shake too close together. I only ended up wearing it for about 3 hours before I had to take it off. My sleep apnea prior to surgery was considered mild to start. My doc had told me that it could be that the number of events a night could drop significantly with my weight loss and may not need to use my machine anymore. Since my surgery date, I've already dropped 10 lbs. and am wondering if that might have been enough to help me not have to use it?? Since coming home, I've not had stomach cramps in the middle of the night. The only thing that was different that night was the CPAP but thought that would be odd for it to cause me to cramp.

You’ll find that programs are different. My husband and I both had an RNY and his program had no preop liquid diet. They did find during my husband’s surgery that he had a fatty liver, but did not cause any issues with his surgery. The program I went through had a preop liquid diet. So I think you’ll find lots of differences between programs and their requirements and how they advance you with food. For example, my husband was eating scrambled eggs day 2 after surgery. On my program, I had another 2 weeks of liquid after surgery before I was able to eat soft foods like eggs.

Premier protein shakes/water

I’m a fan of the Premier Protein shakes and have been using them pre and post op. I’m a little over 3 weeks post op and still prefer them over powders. -
Stage 3 (bariatric soft puree) after one week?!

My husband’s program started him on scrambled eggs and protein drinks on day 2 after his surgery. -
@Hrhays Thanks for that recommendation! I didn’t even think about the pressure.

I need to talk about constipation post op
FluffyH00 replied to Gottajustdoit's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am almost 3 weeks post op and did not have any issues with constipation. My husband also had his surgery done almost 10 months ago and had some of the same issues with constipation that you speak of. He tried several things at first. He definitely did the baby prunes and miralax for a while. Now that he is a bit further out from surgery, he tends to make sure that he gets a good amount of fiber with the foods that he eats on a daily basis. Hopefully you will find some relief soon!
