About Me
I live in Canada. I had my gastric sleeve surgery Aug 30, 2017. I feel 100x better than before the surgery but I still have a long journey ahead of me.
My surgeon was Dr Gmora. I had to stay in the hospital (St Joe's - Charlton in Hamilton, ON Canada) for 4 days due to Low Blood pressure after surgery, and troubles with getting enough water intake. The hospital gave me the diabetic resource for protein (even though I am not diabetic, it was their generic brand they provided) and the first day I got it, it didn't agree with me. (I eventually switched to the premier protein which was a lot better)
I had trouble with water intake so they had to keep me on the iv longer. (please don't let this deter you from surgery as everyone's surgery is different).
I have lost close to 100 lbs. Presently I have plateaued and I am still struggling to get protein in me. I should be getting 60-90g but presently am getting about 50g. I have never quite been a fan of protein prior to surgery.
Physically I can walk up a flight of stairs without stopping (prior to surgery I couldn't do that) because I had asthma (to this date I don't have asthma)
My mental health has significantly improved, so much that I no longer need my mood meds. Been off them post surgery.
I had to stay off of physical gym activity due to doctors orders when an enlarged heart was found on my echo: Cause? Unknown. I am pending a follow-up.
Food allergies present after surgery: Cauliflower/Corn/Lemon Mio/Salmon/Tuna
Vitamins: B12, Vit D, Iron Supplements/Prenatal Multivitamin/Vit C/Magnesium (Prn), Calcium Citrate.
