    March Bypass Buddies

I’ve been using the premier and they just feel so heavy for me! Obviously everyone is different so you might have great luck with it! You can buy 18 packs at Costco but I would definitely recommend like a 4 pack to start just in case you hate them lol

    March Bypass Buddies

I had huge issues with my shakes making me feel awful too but I was choking them down because I wanted to get all my protein in. I started diluting them with water which helped but didn’t fix it! Finally I couldn’t do it anymore and I called my surgeon and he said that this early on in the process, it’s more important to get your fluids in than it is protein. And if the protein is making me sick, it’ll make drinking water so much harder since I’m not feeling well. So he slowed me to stop the shakes and told me to focus on my fluids instead. Obviously every surgeon is different but I hope that helps!

How soon after surgery did you wait to workout?

I started going to the gym exactly at my 2 week mark! I usually do a couple miles of cardio and then I do some weight machines, and I take it slow with the weights!
  7. Also, seeing a medical therapist is always a great idea, anxious or not!
  8. Of course it’s going to be stressful, but soooooo worth it!!! When I get anxious I just think of what my life will look like a year from now and the confidence it will bring me! Also, don’t be afraid to ask for meds to deal with anxiety. It’s helpful!

    Weight Gain B4 surgery.

I gained a couple of pounds pre op....I didn’t have to go on any sort of liquid diet before surgery..I just had to sign something saying I understand I’ve gained weight
  10. Not everyone who is involved is even post op or anything! Everyone is welcome and you only have to lose 4% to win and if you calculate it, it’s not much 😊
  11. No it officially starts on Thursday to give people time to sign up and such 😊 I have some personal friends in my group, so all I ask is that you don’t bring up WLS within the group because im being private about it and they don’t know I’ve had it 😊
  12. Right now there’s 4 of us but I think I’m expecting a couple more 😊
  13. It’s a mixed pot, and there isn’t even a winner...no one will be receiving more money than anyone else. Everyone who loses the 4% splits the pot. So it isn’t unfair
  14. I know plenty of people who have had WLS who participate in these, and again, I didn’t post this to cause a debate with the internet police. Only to encourage others to do what we’re all here trying to do in a fun way! If you don’t want to participate, that’s great, you don’t need to be in this thread then. Have a good evening 😊
  15. Here is a screenshot from the source itself 😊
  16. If I knew how to delete a post on here I would 😂 who knew that trying to encourage others would turn into a debate from the internet police 😂 I promise I did my research beforehand so yeah 🤷‍♀️
  17. Nope, if you look at the rules it says that you can’t participate if you engage in medical weight loss procedures during the course of the diet bet! I’m happy to screenshot the rules if you would like!
  18. Does anyone have any advice about keeping their journey a secret? The only people I’ve told about my WLS journey are my closest friends and family. Im only 2 weeks post op but I’m already nervous about what to tell people when they start asking how I’m losing so much weight. I have a bachelorette party in August where I’m sure they’ll be asking why I’m not drinking/eating nearly as much, and I’m in a wedding In September where I’ll be seeing people I haven’t seen in nearly a year so I know there will be questions. What are your experiences with this and do you have any advice for me? Also, before anyone comments asking why I’m ashamed or embarrassed, I’m not. This is a personal journey for me and there are some things in my life I just like to keep that way.
  19. That’s only if you’ve just really recently had WLS and are still losing rapidly. I double checked (:
  20. Hi friends! I’m 15 days post op. I started soft foods Monday. I ate some soft fish on Monday which I shortly after threw up 3 different times. Yesterday, I had a piece of ham wrapped in a piece of cheese and immediately felt nauseous all day long. Tonight I ate the ricotta bake that everyone has been suggesting, and I don’t feel nauseous but I just feel like I’m in pain!! I’m taking things really slow when I eat and I’m trying to be very cautious. I was so excited to be able to eat again and now I just feel defeated because nothing seems to be settling well at all. Is this normal? Will I ever feel normal again?! ):
  21. Yeah I just couldn’t eat dinner the night before my surgery. That was all
  22. Mine did not! My weight was about 257. I didn’t even have to go on a liquid diet pre op or anything
  23. Okay...I’m 2 weeks post op. 22 years old and I live on my own. I don’t know how to cook, which is where i think a lot of my weight issues stemmed from because eating out was always just easier. I need tips about cooking to stay on track! What are some go to kitchen appliances, etc that I need? And does anyone have suggestions on easy healthy recipes that I can cook for myself, or healthy snacks, kitchen staples that I need, etc. to stay on track during my journey? Thanks in advance 😊

I’m thinking of just bringing some sugar free crystal light lemonade packets and mixing it with vodka lol
