Matt, wait you had your surgery a year ago so technically you're really not cheating anymore if you drink alcohol right? Had my surgery only a month ago, and 11 freakin' months is way too long to wait without Vodka :-) On my first week post op, I was eating steak. I was chewing them really really good, then I'd spit it out. I only lasted a week doing the liquid diet after the surgery. I started eating soft fish and mashed potatoes on my 2nd week. Congratulations! Yes Brag! You deserve it! 14 pounds, that's truly awesome! Sounds about right. I was taking my dog short walks on my 6th day. Be careful, take it easy, and don't feel alarmed if you feel a bit of pain again on your 7th, 8th or 10th day..... Take extra strength Tylenol if the pain gets a bit too much. I stopped taking the prescribed pain pills 4 days after my surgery coz it was making me very loopy. I went back to work on day 12 but I mostly sit in front of the computer so it wasn't so bad. Refrain from standing up without using the arm chair to pull you up. Also I used the stomach support wrap with velcro that the hospital gave me when I go for my walks. Like you, I decided I won't share my surgery to the world yet. Some of my family members and close friends know about it. I think I'll be ready to share the good news to everyone once I've lost my first 50 pounds. I had my surgery February 18th so a month and a day today and I've lost 33 pounds so far. Yahooo! I'm contemplating that most of my friends and family will be supportive, but there will be a few that will judge, and that's why I chose just not to share it with the world yet. I don't need the negative comments at this point. I need to focus and concentrate on me. Good Luck! Excited for you.

Excited for you!! Good Luck! -
Same exact thing happened to me! No worries, you will lose it quickly. The past posts are all correct, they're the liquids they pumped in your system. I also gained 11 pounds, wow! Good Luck! One day at a time!

Maybe the doctor also takes our weight in consideration. My start weight was 228. My doctor wanted me on the liquid diet 2 weeks prior. Also I can eat chicken breast or lean fish and veggies at night. Even that was impossible to follow. It was horrible. I lost 15 pounds. My doctor's main objective was to reduce my liver. I thought it was bogus that he wouldn't continue the surgery if the liver was enlarged, until I started googling about it. Good Luck. Stick with it. You got this Vee.
