Help! Need a Kick in the Butt
waikiki replied to caffyphu's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I also have a BCBS plan and had to follow the same path you did. If you are truthful and put down everything that you eat, you will have no problems. Trust me.. my info was sent in to BCBS and I was approved in one week!!! I didn't get this body eating salads and I didn't put salads down... Just do what they say and you won't have any problems.. -
Sorry you are having a hard time.. I had a similar situation with my mother. She wasn't supportive at first mainly because she just knew it was surgery. She knows I have tried most of my life to diet and have done good and bad. I got her to go to a support group meeting along with my sister, brother, husband and my 14 year old son.. after the meeting they asked questions about the surgery, asked questions of the post banders and walked away with a different attitude. I now have a very supportive team behind me and it just took them learning more about the surgery than they already knew.. I hope your support team turns around after they see how fabulous you are doing post op!! :welldoneclap:

Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
waikiki replied to whosthatgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't have a pre-op diet either. I am wonder though since there is the liquid diet afterwards if it would be easier to adjust if I did a liquid diet.. I did a liquid diet unfortunately a few months ago before I had my gall bladder removed and it wasn't so bad. I think as long as I know there is an end in sight and I skinnier/healthier me I can do it again... -
Is surgery in Mexico safe?
waikiki replied to steph74's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my insurance not covered my surgery, I would have considered Mexico. My husband was already looking into it for me when I found out it is covered at 100% for me.. There is always a catch and I didn't think it would really be approved.. Congrats to all that have gone to Mexico and had great success!! -
