Burping is a bit more after surgery for me than before. Nothing drastic, though. I have been in menopause for several years before my surgery last October (I had early menopause), and since surgery, I’ve actually had no night sweats and less hot flashes. Not sure if the two are related, but I’m happy. As for headaches, I haven’t noticed a difference in them. I still have tension headaches or sinus headaches occasionally.

Can we talk about food aversion

I’m experiencing the same thing sometimes. Right now, I tend to eat the same things each week! I’m slowly forcing myself to try new foods, though. -
Just starting the process
DukeGal1106 replied to Sparkle36703's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It can be a little scary and intimidating. Stay resolute during the process, and stay on plan. Do what your surgeon and clinicians tell you to do. I won’t sugarcoat the fact that the first 2-3 weeks after surgery were rough for me. It’s not uncommon, but just remember it will get better as the weeks pass. -
When did you go back to work?
DukeGal1106 replied to 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I went back after 4 weeks. My surgeon didn’t recommend going back before then. I was going to go back after 2 weeks, but definitely realized I was not ready physically. -
Yikes! I had to do a 2-week pre-op high protein semi-soft diet. As someone else said, the liquid diet dies help prepare you for after surgery.

Oh no. I’m so sorry! Having your gallbladder removed is the best thing. I had mine removed about 10 years ago, long before surgery. My bariatric surgeon says many gastric bypass patients end up having gallbladder issues after surgery, unfortunately.

I agree with the previous posts. IV fluids can cause significant weight gain. Hang in there! It’ll come off.

Can I drink diet soda on my pre op liquid diet
DukeGal1106 replied to Jezzabelle360's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My surgeon had no problem with me drinking diet soda for my pre-op diet. I limited myself to one 12 oz diet soda per day during that time.
