Bariatric surgery was a big mistake
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to Alvinchicago's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
First, If your story is real, and you are not a troll, please get help. You are dealing with some deep seated mental health issues that need professional help. Sleeve done on May 16. Experiencing high blood pressure
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to Tiffany L.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I was told NOT to crush any of my time release meds. (They gave alternative meds to me instead.) Please double check with your Doctor to be sure this is what they want you to do. I hope you feel better soon! -
Well, while you are up there on that plateau take a minute to enjoy that view you have worked so hard for. With 99 pounds lost you sure do deserve it. Way to go! When your body is ready, you are going to continue to do great. Looking forward to hearing about your continued success!

Worried I'm going about this all wrong - help?
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to KatieMc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live a ways away from my surgeon, though not Mexico far by any means! As far as post-op surgical support -one thing I have done is figure out, God forbid, where I would go hospital wise if there is a true emergency issue that would keep me from making the long trip back to my surgeon's hospital. I picked a hospital that is close to me and also has a true bariatric program. While any hospital can deal with emergencies, I figure it is better to go where they would have someone familiar with the surgery and complications. Not likely to need it, but a good back up for a worst case scenario and a best plan B if I do. Just something to consider as a pre-game plan for you. Congratulations and good luck! -

June 2019 Surgery Siblings!
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weirdly, I am more and more calm as the 3rd approaches..... (Subject to change, no doubt!!!!!) I dunno, I think I have just settled into the idea that this is what I have to do and that I have done as much pre-work as I can at this point. The rest will take care of itself, one way or the other. I am actually most afraid of conquering trials as time goes on, years down the road. I have to trust that I will be ready to do the hard work then too, I guess. All that said, I could be calm as F*^K cause I am drinking 400 calories a day now too. My fear cells have probably just starved... -
This one made me pee a little.... Baaa Haaa HAAA!

I decided to Photoshop us a "Get Real Edition" of Women's Health Magazine. The one you are never going to see on the new stand... To be taken as humor only, of course! Just sarcasm from a girl on day three of liquids only.

Sending you lots of good wishes- you will do great! -
I have this one. Kind of a hybrid between a basket style and the other. It holds A LOT of food on the three racks. (Good since I still feed the hubby and a teen boy.) I really love it so far. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Power-6-Quart-AirFryer-Oven-Plus-Black/986978174

CPAP & Aerophagia - Why was I never warned of this!
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to Wendums's topic in Rants & Raves
For those struggling with CPAP, or afraid of the aeorphagia as the weight drops off, you might look into an APAP machine. APAP doesn't just give a singular setting or pressure like traditional CPAP, but instead auto adjusts the pressure literally breath by breath throughout the night. It only ever delivers the pressure needed to maintain the airway at each minute. Your sleep doctor might be willing to give you a loaner or it could be rented short term. For myself, it is still possible that I could, as I lose weight, dip below my pressure ranges that are set by my Doctor on even on my APAP. However, I do feel better that at least if/when that happens it isn't still blowing air into my stomach at a full force setting for months on end. I could then have it adjusted to even lower ranges for the APAP, if needed. I dunno, just a thought. Oh the joys of OSA...😒 -

Anyone else use flinstones vitamins?
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to Taranurse 1's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
This above is what i was referring to... However, if that is the recommendation of your team i think you should listen to them. My surgeon isn't "selling" anything, to be clear. He actually requires proof of purchase of at least one month of vitamins that meet ASMBS guidelines as a pre surgery requirement. (Bought anywhere.) I mentioned this site as it is a start for a search as well as anything online. Just easy is all. Guess you can (and should) question all kinds of sources... -
Anyone else use flinstones vitamins?
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to Taranurse 1's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Flintstones vitamins are not really optimal for bariatric patients. Try looking in the store here on this site or online for vitamins formulated for people who have had weight loss surgery. Some are once a day, some are two or more- depending on the formula. You will also need calcium citrate for sure and possibly others depending on the vitamin you select and your own personal needs. Talk to your surgeon for specifics on your case. Good Luck! -

Drinking water as a teacher
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to Krestel's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
As a teacher I always had a water bottle handy in class. No one ever gave it a second look. Now, getting bathroom breaks was a whole different thing! I think I only peed before and after the school day for years and years. Teachers develop an iron bladder, I think. 😅 -

New here- where to start?
FluffySaysForkIt! replied to Gibnic's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi and welcome! The stopping smoking is awesome, congratulations! That is not easy! I haven't had my surgery yet, but I think taking vitamins is a good thing. Might as well get as healthy that way as you can. I think the most important thing you can do now is read/ learn here from the vets on the site. They can give you a perspective of not only your short term outlook, but what really counts- maintaining the weight loss after the honeymoon period of "easy" weight loss is over. Excited for you and wish you well on your journey!
