That's right. I'm 35 myself and I AM over 300lb. Just about every health problem I have right now is because of my weight. I want control over this problem and I know God is helping me every step of the way. I believe God will use this as a way to help me and so many others take back our lives. May God bless you.

I divorced my husband and I have since remarried. I ended up marrying a close friend of mine and he and I get along great. He himself used to weight nearly 300lb. so he understands what I'm goin' through here. He is extremely supportive and understanding and loving. We are both christians and heavily depend on the Lord. Thank you for your message and I hope we can stay in touch in the future. I'm still waitin on approval from my insurance company.

I'm excited for you. I have already had my consult visit over a week ago and now I'm just waitin' to hear approval from my insurance company. Hey there Boston! Don't be discouraged, I've been tryin' to have this thing done for around 2 years now---but I was in the middle of a not-so-nice divorce too. My (ex) husband told me that if I continued to pursue the lapband surgery then I could pack my bags and go back to my mom and dad--that really hurt too. Anyway, God is good and He gave the grace to carry on. I lost my insurance and had to start the process all over again. Presently I have had my consult visit and psych evaluation. Just waitin' on BCBS insurance to send my surgeon a letter of approval. Well, hope to get to talk to you again. I wish you the best.

:nervous Nice to meet everybody! Imma newcomer as well. I've already had my consult visit and my doctor is Paynter from the Gastric Band Institue in Chattanooga. I went last Thursday for my consult and the nurse says to give the insurance company 6-8 weeks to respond. So, I thought in the mean time I would try and find some folks to talk to that are going through the same thing. So.... lol

If anyone has BCBS of Tennessee that has had this procedure done then please send me a message.

:nervous Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that your're definitely not alone in your feelings here. I've had similar feelings myself. Anyway, I do believe that you will succeed because you made an effort to reach out to others and you seem sincere. That's what it takes--being devoted. I haven't had my surgery yet but I have prayed about it and feel at peace with this. I encourage you to keep reaching out to others--like in this forum for support. I'm kinda new at communicating in this type of format but I'm learning because I know how important it is to have support from family and friends and those who are going through the same thing. I realize this is a late reply to your message but I am eager to talk to someone about the BCBS ins. If you have any other helpful info about the approval process then I would love to know.

I first became interested in lap band surgery two years ago. At the time I had United Health Care ins. and they were going to pay 90% of the cost-including follow-ups. However, my insurance changed before I could go through the pre-op process and now I find myself back at square one. My current ins. is BCBS of Tennessee. I have mixed feelings about this insurance (ins.) because I have heard both good and negative about being approved for this procedure. I would love to talk to someone that knows anything about BCBS ins. and what it takes to get approved through them. I have already gone for my consult visit with the Gastric Band Institute of Chattanooga.
