So a lil info.... got my band may 21st 2008 and have lost a total of 112lbs. I started out at 343 lbs. Almost a year from when i started with the program ( march 2008 started to diet for the needed weight loss before the band ). Now the issue.... Im having a hard time staying on track with the right choices for food. Now its not everyday... but its much more often then I was before . I can recall about 3 bad choices this week so far. Im craving cheese , chocolate and pasta... ( It could be my week for my peroid soon ). Im also working 2 jobs now so I cant get into the gym 5 days a week now. Im trying to get into the gym on weekends but its hard when im so tired from 2 jobs. So.... am I falling off the band-wagon or just having a hard time... Im so upset with myself and I just need some support I think. Anyone else been here? Where you give into some of ur cravings a lil too often? or cant hit the gym as much? I also think im stress eating due to a relationship from the past that might be coming back. Okay im rambling.... any advice? ~~Jessica

I need to lose 15lbs in 8 weeks with a program my job has with its gym. Now I do stay on top of my weight loss and work out... but what I want to do is make sure I lose the 15lbs or more so I can win this gym event . So..... Im thinking slimfast 2-3 times a day as needed and one meal that is very healthy will do the trick . Ill pair this up with working out 6-7 days a week as well. So what ya think? Anyone have any advice for my plan? ~~Thanks ahead! Jessica

thanks ill let you know how it works out.... really wanna be the biggest loser in this b/c they give a 100$ gift card out that i can use on some clothes... lost 107 so far since may 2008! ~~Jessica

Okay so who else went off the normal diet due to the hoilday season? I have to say I have lost 105lbs since may 21st 2008 and I felt as long as I did not gain weight ( just maintained ) that it was okay to let loose and enjoy in small amounts the foods I like and have not really had since I went on this weight loss trip. Just wanted to see if i was alone... or if others gave into a short break. My plan to get back on track is a big salad I made tonight with lots of healthy stuff and some chicken for the Protein I need. I just plan to munch on that for lunches durning the week. And as always Im back in the gym 5 days a week. So am I alone? And if not... what are you doing to get back on track? ~~Jessica

I heard ( cant remember where ) that you can not dye your hair for 1 year after surgery due to lack of protein in diet. I have the lap band back in may 2008 and my hair seems fine. So if I want to get some hi-lights.... I should be okay right? Thanks for the help! ~~Jessica :cursing:

***Im reposting here b/c my 1st post might of not been in the right section of the forums.*** So anyone else run into this problem?? Making poor choices when ur pals are around? I tend to pick poor foods and eat mushy items which means i can eat more.... Now i know this is bad, and its wrong... I run into this issue about once a week sometime 2 times . I could use some advice and tips from others who have been here and were able to beat the need to eat like ur pals! Also some side facts so you have a better understanding. March 1st 2008 started to work for pre band diet lost 23lbs . May 21st 2008 band ... Sept 28th 2008 total of 84lbs lost. Work out 6-7 days a week , most days ( 5-6 ) healthy choices for food. ~~Jessica

I feel anyone who does this has an issue with food and they need to speak to a psychologist and there doc. The reason most of us are heavy is b/c of what we put in our mouth. Now you gotta think... why am i putting this crap in? If u think your at risk for this Chew and spitting crap... get some help before you do it. ~~jessica

so maybe i'm not eating enough?

HUMMM if u think 700 claories is too low... what do u think about 200-400 calories? If i just eat chicken or salmon i can keep my intake to about that the whole day. I usually eat about 4oz of salmon or chicken between 2 meals and thats it. Then my morning meal will be something different but my calories never go too high unless i make poor choices... ~~Jessica -
Anyone notice any changes in mood since surgery? I had mine back in may 2008 and sometimes I can get... well cranky or even mean. Which is totally not me. And it kinda worries me a bit. Wanted to see if anyone else is feeling this way out there and maybe what others do to handle this issue. thanks ahead! ~~jessica

Well im glad to know this now. I have my period on top of this all and i was just a mess at work yesterday. I wanted to kick everyone in the head it seemed. I hate feeling this way b/c it is not me at all! ~~jessica

Yeah... so I had the band may21st 2008 and have lost 80lbs if you add in the 23lbs before surgery. But ever since I have had the band I burp all the time . And... the more fills i get... the louder they get lol! Anyone have the same issue? Any clue as to why it is happing? I guess I could live with the burping as long as the weight keeps pealing off. As long as this is not a sign that something is wrong its not a big deal for me. Just looking for a few answers. Thanks ahead!! ~~jessica

If you have gained weight back the lap band ( even if they can do it ) will be no use to you. You may consider seeing a counselor to see if you can notice an eating pattern. The reason the weight is coming back on is the choice of foods your putting into your body, and maybe you stopped working out . Wishing you all the best of luck!! If you want it... you can do it! ~~jessica

grats! Im so happy for you !

I just had my 2nd fill about 1 week and 4 days ago. The 1st week went well as with the 1st fill. But now im starting to want to eat more... and im trying so hard to show self control but its getting harder. Im trying to eat 1 cup of food or less and i still feel some what hungery after but if i sit and rest before i try more food i usually can wait until next meal. So far i have 2cc in my band and i have lost 76lbs total counting the 23lbs before band that i lost between march 2008 - may21 2008 when i got the band. The other 53lbs is after the band. Im also do for my one a month friend and have had 3 lbs creep back on . I work out everyday also.... so since im working out alot could that be why im more hungery? Or just i need another fill? And if its another fill... is it too soon to get another one? Any advice would be wonderful!!! ~~jessica

You getting some counseling before the band and after is going to be very important for you. If u wanna be healthy... u gotta see its just not the body that needs the help, but also the way ur mind works to deal with problems. Best of luck! ~~jessica

How many bandings has your doctor done?
jls_27 replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dont worry! I had a doc who did maybe aroudn 10-15 before me and im doing wonderful! He was a very kind and understanding man who has put together a wonderful program of support for ppl who have had the surgery or are looking into it. These docs know the human body... youll be fine! Go get ur band and start ur life over again! ~~jessica -
The only itching issue i ever had was from the strips they place over the cuts to help u heal. If ur itching there then use a cold pack... it helps.

Weight loss stalled, any ideas?
jls_27 replied to cheshirecat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes ppl can stop losing weight for a bit. I know your busy with life but if u can you should try this . Work out to ur target heart rate for 4 mins use this link to find out what it is... Target Heart Rate Easy Online Calculator | Active.com then once you hit 4 mins at ur target rate back down to Recommend heart rate for 2 mins. and then back to the target one. do this over and over for ur work out. This is a great way to recharge ur body to start the weight loss again. Im starting this today . Also go to a walmart or sports store and buy a ecg accurate strapless heart rate watch. Follow this link to see what im talking about .Mio Ultimate ECG Accurate Strapless Heart Rate Watch with FREE shipping included. I bought mine for $37.00 at walmart. best of luck! ~~jessica
