  1. So I’m on day 12 of my pre op diet, 38 to go 😭 I’ve lost 13lbs and I’m hanging in there, but damn it’s not getting easier. Thought the hunger would pass after a few days but nah.. and I think about food every second of every day. I’ll follow my surgeons instructions no matter how hard it is, but please tell me the constant thoughts of food will fade slightly after surgery? I’m excited to not feel the hunger as much but I’m definitely worried my addiction to food will bother me forever

Pre op liquid diet day 12

Thank you💕 that gives me hope! It’s 50 days. So a lot longer than most people on here I see, but I’m having it done in Norway and the whole process is a bit different
  3. Today is the first day of my 6 week, 1000kcal a day shake diet. I’ve been dreading this for a while now but I’ll trust my surgeon and follow it religiously. My biggest concern is being this hungry and frustrated with no solids at work and school. Hopefully it gets better after the first few days! (RNY May 13th)
  4. My surgeon is letting me decide, but he said if it was up to him he’d be leaning towards the bypass because of my BMI being very high and the bypass tends to be more effective for morbidly obese people. I’m sure I could probably do just as well with the sleeve, and it being less invasive is tempting, but I see quite a bit of people going from sleeve to bypass for different reasons and I only want to do this once. So bypass scheduled for 05/13
  5. Wow, I see a lot of people here saying that they only needed to do two weeks of pre-op diet. I’ve been told six weeks and I need to start with shakes only in a few weeks (surgery in May). And those 6 weeks plus the post-op liquid diet is a looong time with no solids. Damn!

    HELP! Sleeve vs MGB?

What is recommended definitely depends on your surgeon but mine said he usually suggests sleeve for patients with BMI under 40 and a bypass for those over. I’m over, so he thought the bypass would be the best option for me and I agreed. Scheduled for May
