My surgeon used dermabond to seal my wounds after surgery for nicer scars, but I thought it was going to fall off in a week or so and nothing. Anyone else had to pick it off?
-
I picked at it after 10 days when all the edge came up. I have very nice scars now that are getting massaged with Palmers for optimal smoothness.
-
Is it the first time you experience it? Did you do something different than usual?

For those sleevers who have passed the abdominal pain, was it normal for there to be pain for a few hours each time you did a movement where you accidentally used your core. I'm only 3 weeks post op and this has been the worst part for me so far.
-
So you have been blessed with no pain or soreness in the area of the deep incision when you moved your core faster than acceptable?
-
have you tried the liquid multivitamins?
-
I'm on the pureed diet and I eat 2 oz every 4 hours. I couldn't stomach all that food.
-
Does the hospital where you had the procedure have a post op support group? You might be able to find someone in your area there.

I agree with the ladies above, your healing process might have you swollen from the anesthesia and the IVs. But usually you'll see a slight difference when you look in the mirror with time. The first place I noticed change was in the roundness of my face. -
That's odd. Each person I saw surgeon, dietitian, nurses always said multivitamins for life plus B complex and D3.
-
Congrats on the news. Make sure to take your multivitamins and take supplements with dha and folic acid for the healthy development of the baby. Your OB/GYN might be able to more insight on the rest. My cousin got pregnant at 40 for the first time after her procedure, and she had a healthy baby girl.

The gas doesn't go away until almost a week post op for me. But timing my liquids really did help to have it move around.

2nd Week Post Op Ate A Little Watermelon
koketika replied to Trellunit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So depending on your recovery process is your mind may be the same, but you need to know that it's mind over matter. If you try to eat something that you shouldn't be or too fast or too much, your body will punish you. This is where this tool comes into play. -
2nd Week Post Op Ate A Little Watermelon

Lentils and chili, just blend it with an immersion blender... so yummy. Just make sure it's chicken or turkey meat and not spicy. Buy plain yogurt and organic fruit crusher pouches and add a tablespoon of that and also very delectable. -

Watermelon is allowed in stage 2, because it's mushy. -
Second Week Post Op Gas Issues

Sounds good, let me know if this helped, as I sip my water. -
Matt, I think you have to take into consideration, how regular were you before the procedure, how much fiber and water in your diet currently. My protein shake had probiotics that help with 💩. I wish you swift and easy 💩. The gas is that too much time is passing between intakes, once I started timing it better it calmed down.

That is eating too fast. Try the timed eating, it helps immensely. Get measuring spoons and cups to measure it perfectly.

Second Week Post Op Gas Issues
koketika replied to Trellunit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So when I got home post op, I keep a timer and made sure to consume something every hour. Now I'm stage two and I have my "meals " at 4 hour intervals, but in between at the 2 hour mark , I have protein shake, at least 4 oz. After I eat at the 45 minute mark, give or take, I take a few sips of water until the next 30 pre meal mark. After dinner, at the 1.5 hour mark I start my final shake to complete my protein intake and I alter it with water, as sips until I go to bed. -
So as a Sleeve post-op, I noticed that small amounts, carefully measured eaten at timed intervals helps a lot. For example, at my "food" I eat one bite and wait 4-5 minutes before the next one. and my liquids are in containers where I eyeball how much I'm drinking at a time. This has helped me as I was a fast eater before the surgery.

If the walking doesn't work, have you timed your liquid intake. The more often I take sips of water, the gas I tend to make. -
Ready for pureed food stage
koketika replied to Bkprincess21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm currently in stage 2, and buying a tub of plain yogurt and mixing it with a tablespoon of the fruit purees are my favorite. I can't do the baby food, I just make regular food and stick it in my food processor. -
Portion Sizes @ Restaurants
koketika replied to bluehat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wouldn't order off a kid's menu. The food is usually subpar nutrition wise. Concerning the portion, order what you want, ask for a small plate and serve yourself a portion and take the rest to go. Avoid issues with rude staff. -
How soon post surgery did you have a BM?
koketika replied to Briswife15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my first BM was 2 days after surgery and it was pasty, not diarrhea. During the liquid diet, all my BMs were pasty. Once I started step 2, they became normal again. Just make sure to drink plenty of water to stay regular.
