My stats are very similar to yours. I had the sleeve surgery May 2 and already feel like I hit the jackpot. I feel so much better, I look better and my whole demeanor is more upbeat and less depressed. I've already lost 35 pounds since the beginning of the preop diet. Anxiety and fear of the unknown is normal. Think about why you initially started down this path...

What to have at home after surgery?

Non-caffeinated tea felt gentle to my stomach after I'd been home a few days and was a good change of pace from water and broth. Also, a nice comfy blanket. I soon found that I was much colder after surgery once the insulation starting falling off! Best of luck to you. -
protein shakes make me puke

I like the Core Power protein shakes much better, they are not as cloyingly sweet and not as dense. You might try thinning your shake with water or skim milk if it's the consistency that's bothering you. I also like to pour some in a container and freeze it for a bit. It's akin to ice milk and a bit more tolerable. Hang in there and experiment with other brands until you find something that works for you. Protein is essential and this is the easiest way to get it with the least expenditure of calories. -

Return to Work after Surgery

Each of us has a unique situation and set of circumstances. I have a sedentary job and went back after two weeks. I walk to work, about five blocks, which was exhausting a couple of times. That being said, if I was 20 or 30 years younger, I think I may have had a bit more energy and pep in my step! I felt physically fine after two weeks, but low energy. Good luck to you on your journey! -
I like Core Power by Fair Life. They have a better consistency and aren't quite as cloyingly sweet as some of the others.

I like the Premier Protein as well. They have 30 grams of protein. I like to heat the chocolate for a "hot chocolate" treat for a change of pace. Vanilla is my favorite as it doesn't seem overly sweet as some of the others. Good luck!
