Agreed...same! Focus on healing, and sticking to the plan. Do not overwhelm yourself with worry and the scale...it will all come in its due time!

is it possible to not lose??
Mdnytangel replied to curtains's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree! I stalled on my second week, thinking I did something wrong, but, no, just your body healing and adjusting! Just like the stalls come, so do the losses! The only time to be concerned is if something goes wrong. Stick to the plan and follow it..use the the wls surgery tool as you should, and everything falls into place as it should. And discuss things in here...it helps! This is a wonderful group of ladies & gentlemen, supporting one another, no matter what part of the journey they are on. -
Congratulations!!! I can feel your excitement as I read your post, and it made me smile! SUCCESS!!! I love it!!! 💕

On day 1. What are some tips you have to stay motivated?
Mdnytangel replied to K8ecakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely...stalls & patience. However, I look at stalls now as a way for my body to catch up to the weight loss~ I find it’s important to think about what our bodies are going through~ I already have some excess skin, however, I find that it’s not quite as bad after a stall. (Or maybe that’s just hope lol) Try not to focus on the scale, do NOT weigh yourself everyday, or several times a day! Stay focused on your path and new lifestyle, and improvements- keep moving forward! Don’t forget to do your measurements, as well! Often, the scale won’t be moving, however, inches will!!! (Woot woot!!!) My daughter keeps showing me pictures from last year, or sometime in the past to help me keep things in perspective....because I KNOW how much I have lost, etc., however, I still see myself as before- it’s difficult to let reality set in, I guess! I think we all agree that this place helps as well..no matter what you’re going through, whether it’s tailbone pain rubbing on your butt skin, the reactions of others, etc...you are NOT alone! Most of all...enjoy the process and the new you!!! ~xo~ Oh, and being able to sit at a booth or normal sized chair with arms on it without worrying about what I like to call “suck & tuck”, PRICELESS!!! Or, worry about if the chair will cling to you as you get up, making the dreaded scraping noise, while everyone turns to look at you. Keep going...and LIVE!!! -

It’s official! 2 of my goals are crossed off ~ I was able to go off my diabetic meds the 2nd day I began the optifast! Then I was able to stop taking my blood pressure medication about a month or so ago! I am beyond ecstatic and amazed! ...determined to not go back!!! Anyone else? oh, first day back at the track today since the snow is gone now! Loving it!!!

Good idea! Stay focused through it all though..way to go, by the way! 😊 -
That’s awesome! Way to go...to all of you! How inspirational for all of us!!!

I agree with both previous posts! I am so sorry you are going through this right now; especially by family! That’s why I didn’t tell my parents or brothers...I know exactly how they would act. Thankfully my children understand, and have been helpful and encouraging! (My oldest 2 are in their 20’s though) It will be a transition for everyone. I hope their attitude changes soon for you! Maybe try talking to them again, and share your feelings. No matter what, focus all the more..this is for you! (((Hugs)))

Detour Whey Protein Bars Available @ The BariatricPal Store!
Mdnytangel replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Awesome! Detour bars are great! We sold some at 1 of the gyms I use to work at...it was almost like a snickers bar! -
I think we all have been there lol It gets easier, especially keeping yourself occupied!

Transition from liquids to pureed food
Mdnytangel replied to Recidivist's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Definitely, follow the recommendations, if you were given some type of manual. Also, I find that journaling, or using MyFitnessPal, Baritastic, etc., have been helpful as well. Not to mention lots on the internet. -
May I just say how much I love the camaraderie on here?! We are NOT in this alone! It is so great to have this spot where we can come together and pull each other through doubts, celebrate triumphs, and make lifelong friends, (along with our commitment). Everyone is so encouraging, and I enjoy reading everyone that shares...through all the different stages.

I agree. I lost 53 lbs before my surgery, about 11lbs the week of, and then nothing for about 2 or 3 weeks. I was starting to doubt my decision, however, I am losing again..lbs & inches! Our bodies will “plateau” at times to adjust; we just have to remember how far we have come...it’s a daily battle~ our choices are everything! The other day it really sank in for me when I was making the ticker tape on here and I saw that I have lost about 75 lbs in the past 14 months!!! It puts everything into perspective! I have not been much below 300lbs since before I had my children! Today, I am at 231.8!!! My undergarments are falling off, people I haven’t seen in awhile, as well as my coworkers, are commenting...it’s amazing to me; sometimes I just feel like crying! I can actually see myself at the finish line this time! We just have to try and stay focused...it’s our health...and, for me, my children!

It becomes a part of life. I am currently 6 weeks post-op, and glad that I had the surgery! Like you, I was nervous about, and unsure, as to whether I would be able to meet all the requirements; however, knocked them off 1 by 1. Everyone on the teams were absolutely wonderful and never made me feel inadequate or stupid or anything negative. I’m a Pepsi drinker and thought it was going to be difficult to let that go, but, I don’t really miss it...it’s hard enough making sure I’m taking in everything I need lol. They prepare us and are very informative about it all. Make sure that you’re totally honest with them...a lot of people in my orientation class were complaining due to the length of time it was taking and they wanted a surgery date right then (me too lol), but one can definitely understand and appreciate why they are so cautious and thorough. Oh, I forgot! I think the most difficult part for me was the optifast! I was sooOOoooOoo hungry lol I’m not anymore 🤪
