Yeah I've done tons of research and my BMI is 43 with co morbidities so I feel RNY is best I can only afford 1 surgery and only want 1 so I hope my surgeon listens to my decision wisely

    Me me me!
Last year a friend of mine had a surgery, and everything went well, she lost so much weight without any complications. And I was so afraid that I didn't go to the appointment. I thought I'll give myself a chance to make it on my own. But I just couldnt stick to the plan and failed. I'm having surgery on the 1st of april. [emoji16][emoji120]

Hello April buddies! I’m planning on having gastric bypass. haven’t had my surgery date scheduled yet, but am hoping for an April date. I’ve done all the labs, tests, psych evaluation and two nutrition visits. Last things on my list are EGD and 3rd nutrition visit before sending off for approval.

Throughout the process, I’ve been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea, insulin resistance and hypertension. These are all issues I was fairly aware of and just kept putting off testing until this year. Hope everyone has a smooth journey!

I initially chose sleeve but after my endoscopy they found I had Barrett’s esophagus and sleeve was no longer an option. I had bypass on 4/27/18. My results have been good but not without problems. I am just now out of the hospital from getting my gallbladder removed last Thursday. I also spent 7 days in the hospital with severe sepsis blood infection early in February because of my gallbladder. My weight loss has been great. 228 lbs on day of surgery to 162 lbs now. No sleep apnea, no diabetes; no high blood pressure, and no kidney disease. I had all-of those before the bypass! Bypass for me has been a blessing. I have relatives who had the sleeve and have regained most of their pre surgery weight back. I know I am not a full year out but my opinion is bypass is the best option. I also considered DS but my surgeon didn’t think I should go that route.

Thanks that’s very kind of you to offer but I think I’ve found somewhere that i’ve really warmed up to. I was looking mostly Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia but it was weightlossRiga in Latvia that has caught my attention, they’re extremely upfront about everything.
They seem to have a lot more avenues to social media where you can find real reviews and daily journals of people that are there right now, I been quizzing a lady about the staff and facilities all day while she’s waiting to be discharged after the sleeve surgery she had 36 hours ago! Also, upon enquiry, they sent me a TONNE more information than the other (8?) clinics i’ve Emailed, including a fully detailed eating plan, Vitamin plan and they include a free session with a nutritionist back in the UK once you can eat solid food. Their price covers literally everything from the minute you land to the minute you get back to the airport, hotels, transport etc They outline a typical day-to-day itinerary of how each day would play out and things to expect throughout the duration along with links to their private Facebook page with access to speak with dozens of their own pre and post op patients. I must say, I’m hugely impressed by what I’ve found so far.
I emailed 2 uk companies in London out of curiosity too and got the most matter-of-fact robotic responses that still didn’t answer the questions I asked...which Is good, because I detest going to London!

Look around in Lithuania. I'm Lithuanian, so for me the surgery will be only 1600€, but for foreigner it's around 5000€. If u want I can search more for you. [emoji6]
