    Let's talk about taxes

Wheetin, My thought is since you ask is.... Lets says you have three different people. (Very simiply stated) Two choose to go to work right out of high school, no college, the other chooses to spend the next 5-8 (plus lots of money) becoming educated. Lets Dick HS Grad get's lucky and makes 35-45K a year. HE is at about a 24% income tax. The we have Jane who either is not able or not willing to work at all. She actually has a negative tax responsiblity. Then we have Judy who got her degree and is make $130,000 a year @ almost a 45% TAX RATE? Whats fair here? NOT MUCH! ( I am middle class and feel for the weathly and huge tax burden they face as a penalty for their ambition! As well all know WEALTHY AMERICANS pay the majority of income taxes collected in the US.) I am defiantly a proponet of FLAT TAX, The weathly still pay more because its based on income. But everyone pays based on income. The main pay off here is that we drastacly reduce red tape! Save MILLIONS of tax dollars per a much simplified system. It just makes so much sense!
  3. AMEN Karen:clap2: I stopped posting when things starting turning a bit negative and only ocassionaly have visited back. I just don't have the time or the "negative" engergy for these sorts of things! I have very strong core beliefs and thats a part of who I am. I voted recently, never miss local or major elections. The sad thing is the majority Americans including Repbublicans don't speak their mind the right way.( They argue on chats borads for hours!HA) VOTE that is our true impact as an American Citizens, your true commitment to your beliefs! :biggrin1:

    The downside of being banded.

WOW, your all very different from me every size I gain or lose in my life I AM SHOPPING! I love clothes and I love to shop! I have to admit my 16's right now are looking better than 18's. In fact I just went out yesterday to MACY*S one day sales and purchased 3 tops for the upcoming holidays. I want to look my best! I thinks its just a part of who I am.

I don't go to work for awhile ( did the STD route) so I should be good to go. I am hungry though but its almost more of a chore to try and drink soup than its worth..HA! I did have 1/4 of cottage cheese today. Ummm.. finally somthing besides soup. I need ideas of mush foods I just can't think of much!

Help?? 4 Days Post Op And Still The Pain

I agree, 5 days would have really been pushing it for me to go back to work. Had my surgery Nov 8. Yesterday I started feeling pretty good. (Still some incision pain but not too bad.) I was very sick vomiting the 1st 2 days so maybe that why I am just now feeling normal again. Get my staples out tomorrow:clap2: . Starting to feel more hunger too.. YIKES! Cottage cheese is my friend today:heh: The nurse at my office said all people respond differently to anethesia, some take longer to recover.

    November Bandsters!

Karen, Thanks for your support. I am doing much better now, gas and few aches here there is it. (I am a bit concerned about slippage just due to all the previous heaving.:sick I THINK I am down about 11 pounds as of today. Have not figured out how to move my ticker?? I am eating Soups and yogurts and few other very liquid mushies. I move to full mushies Wed. I have already found it I don't drink slowly I get a tightness in my chest. I walked today for the 1st time, it was nice to get out! I also have one shoulder that is sore because its the side that I have been sleeping on..I thought it was gas but don't think so now ..?? How are you doing? Do you still have all your tape on? One of mine came off in the shower today..?? I have my staples out Wed... Looking forward to that, AND then I can move to foods like cottage cheese etc.. YEAH! :clap2: AND wonder why I am FAT? HA. Thanks again for everyones support!
  8. Well I am banded. I had headaches the first two days but they are better now. I also had profuse vomiting after the anti nausea patch wore off. :sick Not good for a new bander but there was nothing I could do, I just kept heaving. I stopped the pain meds and finally Thursday afternoon I stopped. ( Banded Wed AM.) The pain was tuff but anything was better than being so sick. I think I am fine I was able to go for a walk today and eat soft food mainly soups and protien drinks. Wed I get to move to mushy foods. I am a bit hungry at times but nothing horrific. :nervous The gas and sleeping is my issues right now. But walking seems to help. I hoped this would have been a bit easier road but it what it is.... :rolleyes

    November Bandsters!

Well, I banded... sigh..The first two days for me were pretty difficult. As soon as the nausea patch wore off I started vomiting:eek: ! To be honest the gas was the least of my worries. So I stopped taking (ouch, pain scale about a7)the pain meds drank chicken broth which tends to cool an upset stomach and it finally worked after two days of misery.:sick I hoping the vomiting did not cause me any problems. I did notice so extra bleed on my incisions but I suppose that normal with being sick the way I was. The pain is now down to about a 3 with just reg Extra Strength Tylenol. I was honsetly hoping for a little easier go with this, AND now really hoping I never have to have it taken out! Its nice to hear the rest of you have done so well, its probably my week stomach and age that made it a little rougher on me. My scalle says I have lost about 7#'s!

  12. I have surgery TOMORROW:clap2: , I am nervous and excited all at the same time. liquids are a real struggle with me. TERRIBLE headaches! I think I actually started them with a bit of sinus issues going on and now I can't hardly keep my eyes open late afternoon due to light sensitivity and a very AWFUL headache! Anyone have this same experience?

    Question for the Nurses

My son is in a BSN nursing program right now, however he is young with no debt. SO... I can tell with many people in the medical field in my family (several nurses) its a field with many angles to chose from as well a great career for a working mother. Many of the hospitals in our area have on site daycares, you usally work 3/ 12 hour shifts which leaves you lots of home time. Also as your probably know their is a very high demand! I think anytime your bettering yourself with a PAY OFF especially with education you should go for it!
  17. AMEN~~~:clap2: I agree completely! You should have tried to get a word in on the political board...Dem/Rep poll. It will almost be a relief to get a different President in and see who they blame everything on then:rolleyes
  18. [Q Good luck, Donna. There are people who are determined to believe that all of us simple American folks are just politically insensitive and ignorant, instead of sure of what we believe and ready to defend our culture. There are people who are convinced that the USA, or worse, one particular President, is to blame for all the problems on the planet. I despise political correctness. It is at the root of the confusion causing most of the problems we are experiencing. I for one have the spine to fight this battle, but I'll find another hill. UOTE] AMEN~~~I agree completely! You should have tried to get a word on the political board...Dem/Rep poll. It will almost be a relief to get a different President in and see who they blame everything on then!

    Hey PRE-Banders...!

I like most of you have some of the same things, matching undergarments, boots, all kinds of them... including SKI BOOTS. I quit skiing about 5 years ago because the search for SKI BOOTS that would fit my calves just got to be too embarrassing! I have a trip planned in March next year! I get banded Nov 8! That gives me 4 months to shed some weight! Its got to go!:clap2: Really I think being able to be physically active again has got to be the biggest thing I look most forward to. Volleyball, tennis, hiking, scuba,(wet suits don't look all that good on a size 18:rolleyes: ) ... I used to be very active and my weight has taken it away! Simple neighborhood walks is about it now...:bored
  21. As you all know I am Repblican and I totally agree, if there has been some sort of cover up, they must go. Not acceptable behavior in any sense! This is far too serious of an issue to be swept under the rug... Now if its political hype, thats a different story.

Wheetin since there not talking about banding tonight ... I am thinking I will wait until Oct. (I was looking forward to meeting Ghost but I may wait until the subject is more fitting per my situation.) Unfriendly..? Why...?
  25. Thanks for the advice, If you didn't lose 20#'s in a month after all that, you should have something checked! HA! I did the two a day thing for awhile and the weights. Everytime I get to that level or that much exercise I substain some sort of injury. 3 stress fractures in 2 years! Most of the people on this site are probably not ready for that type of program from a cold turkey start...?? I am walking 4 times a week for 40 minutes. I want to get an eliptical to help with the impact on my joints.
