Yes! He did my surgery last November! He is amazing and so nice. I honestly only saw him once or twice prior to surgery but I was so impressed with him and he made me feel so at ease, as did the rest of the staff. I highly recommend him!

I also had a lot of pain still 2 weeks out. My pain was mostly all on the left lower side. But I had gastric bypass. Once I got to week 3, all the pain subsided

My mom had gastric bypass at age 65 and had zero complications and lost 150 lbs. at first I was concerned due to her age, but I think it was good because it extended her life and improved her quality of life

I’ve been told that I have to cook all veggies until about 9 weeks. I will be 9 weeks post op on Friday and have been wanting cucumbers sooo bad. Planning on trying it soon

Anyone else deal with a lot of burping during and after meals? Not having any pain, just what seems like excessive burping
-
I experienced these things too but it seemed to go away once my body adjusted. I felt so gross the first month

Mine skipped the month of November, which is when I had my surgery and then went right back to normal in December.

I just saw yesterday that papa Murphy’s has a crust less pizza....basically is just the toppings in a pan from what I understand and you can create your own or order specific kinds of “pizza”...haven’t tried it yet (I’m only 7 1/2 weeks out) but I might in the comings months

So I’ve had 2 NSV this week...the first is I pulled out my brand new nursing scrubs that I bought 2 years ago and have never been able to fit into them. Well now they fit perfectly!!! Also pulled out some jeans that I haven’t fit into for a long time and they fit too! This is a 2nd NSV because they do not have an elastic band!!! For the last couple years I’ve been living in yoga pants and elastic wasted jeans because that’s all that has fit me comfortably. I’m 7 1/2 weeks out and 32 lbs down since surgery

I’ve experienced this from time to time, I try not to take really hot showers and i kind of assumed my blood sugar might be low since it was hours since I’ve eaten and my body was adjusting to my new lifestyle. I have found that drinking apple juice or something that is 100% juice helps and possibly taking a zofran if I’m nauseous too. And of course sit down as soon as you start feeling like this

I couldn’t go until day 9, was taking a stool softener, dulcolax, and milk of magnesia.

We are surgery twins! Also had surgery 11/15/19..I have hit a couple plateaus along the way but I’m still continuing to lose, just maybe not as fast as I thought I would. I lost 22 lbs in the first month after surgery but that has slowed down since then. My surgeon says I should expect to lose about 10 lbs a month from now on...just hang in there! And keep following the plan

I had pain too to the left of my belly button, called the dr and was told it was completely normal.

My dr had me off a full month for gastric bypass. I’m a nurse and am on my feet a lot at work and I feel like I needed all the time I got

I have had the same issues and I am 3 weeks out at this point. Both get better. If I was too active as far as doing things around the house or doing things that required bending I would get really bad muscle pain, if that happens I just try to relax the muscle for a day and then it’s usually better. As far as with the nausea and dizziness in the shower, I kind of assumed it was low blood sugar due to my body adjusting to this new way of life. I would just try to sit for a few minutes and took zofran and drank a bit of apple juice and it seemed to do the trick every time. Both of these problems are becoming much less common the longer out I am though

So I’m 5 1/2 days post op from gastric bypass. Still having pain of course but I’m wondering about how long that lasts...pain feels like a pulling burning sensation. I’m not having any other symptoms with it so I’m sure it’s normal but I’m ready to not be in pain.

I’m from Indiana, but I’m having the RNY on November 15th! I will for sure be off for 2 weeks but my surgeons office says I could be off for up to a month. In the process of filling out FMLA paperwork. I’m an ER nurse, so I’m wondering if 2 weeks would be long enough for me to be off for recovery. Not everyday is the same but there are definitely days that are physical just as much as mental

I’m 32 and from Indiana. I’ll be having RNY surgery on November 15th. Kinda nervous but really excited

I’ll be having the RNY in 3 weeks...super nervous but also excited about starting this new chapter

1. Not being the “fat friend”
2. Being too skinny for my “skinny” clothes
3. Being comfortable wearing shorts and tank tops outside
4. Not breaking out in a sweat at the drop of a hat 😂Libby63 reacted to this -
Hey! I’m 302 and 5’4 and 32 years old. I also don’t have any comorbidities except for foot and ankle pain I have, usually more severe after working. I think as long as we are meeting the requirements that insurance has set for us beforehand we will be fine. I just finished my 6 month of weight loss appointments that were required and am waiting to hear whether or not insurance has approved me for surgery.
Carbs after gastric bypass

Does anyone know how many carbs we should be shooting for after gastric bypass? I’m 10 months out, down about 96 pounds from highest weight
