Alcohol a year after bypass
Jezzabelle360 replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm out a year and recently started having a few while I'm out singing at night. I've never been a drinker before and I've had a hard time controlling it post op. I blacked out two weeks ago which I've never done before. I was with my guy who I trust and counted myself lucky. I don't remember leaving the bar, walking to the liquor store and doing shots there, or getting a lyft home. It was a total wake up call for me and I'm not going to drink anymore. I don't want to think what could've happened if I hadn't been with my boyfriend. I'd say it's not really worth it but that's just my own personal experience with it. I've seen people talking previously about how to reset your pouch. Can anyone recap that for me please? Sent from my LG-Q710AL using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm 2.5 months post op gastric bypass. I'd been going to the gym every single day, sometimes 2-3 times a day. (It's become my new way of dealing with stress and my new social thing to do besides going out to eat with friends) Tuesday I met with a trainer because I was cleared by my Dr. for core workouts but was told to really ease into it. I was completely transparent with the trainer who told me he'd known and worked with other people with my predicament and that I'd be fine. I told him I had a lot of atrophy and was pretty sure I was malnourished and dehydrated often but that I was working hard on it. He had me stand on some scale thing that you hold the handles on and it sends some electro type pulses through you to separate the fluid from bone muscle and fat and stuff so it can read how your weight is distributed throughout. There's something in it that also reads your inflammation level and he said I had the highest he'd ever seen and also called a co-worker over to check it out and said congrats, you're a winner. After getting on the floor with him after the first set he had me do of squats I knew something was wrong. My legs immediately felt like spaghetti and I could barely stabilize myself. I told him it didn't feel right and he just said you're fine you can have 10 seconds and then did it again...so I did because I hate liking like a wimp (stupid pride) and again and again and lunges and ab excersise...i haven't been ale to walk well since. My legs keep going out from under me and I've nearly fallen down a few times just walking and at work (I stand all day and cut hair). It's Saturday morning and I woke up still in that day after kind of pain. I mean, I've worked with a trainer before and I know the pain but it's NEVER come on that quick and it's NEVER lasted this long or intensely. I swear I'm not being dramatic or whiney. I'm a little worried and not sure what to do. Plus I'm upset because it's now keeping me from working out anything besides my upper body which I can't do every day so I go to the gym and just sit somedays so I don't get out of the habit of going. If I'm being honest I'm really pissed at the negligence but I can't do anything about that and want to let it go so how do I make my legs feel better so I can start working out again??? Sorry about the long rant to anyone who actually made it through. (My own solution thus far is to add genepro to everything and try harder to get more fluids in) my friend says he's going to give me something called map pills but I don't know if I cantake those. Dates that don't revolve around food
Jezzabelle360 replied to SassyScienceNerd's topic in Singles Forum
Well besides the fact that I had gotten overweight which I've started my journey, I think I'm a relatively attractive girl and I don't turn men down based on looks. I date all body types, races, and faces. There are good women who appreciate good men. This it's not your fate. It may be your defeated perception which makes me sad. Dates that don't revolve around food

Just be yourself. My perfect date is someone I could make it through a date gone awry with. If the actual date itself goes to **** but we're both laughing it off and the conversation is good, he asks me questions so I feel like he's interested in me and he's sharing some of himself so that I don't feel really vulnerable I like that. It feels real. You're really just making a new friend and if you click and the chemistry is there than it will organically grow. Some people are socially more awkward maybe. You day you're struggling to even get responses? Maybe you have a friend of the opposite sex that can look over your profile or go on a fake date with you to curb some of that but honestly I think the right person will just like you for who you are. I went on a fake date with a guy friend and he told me I was to laid back and willing to pay and open my own doors and that I needed to make a man do those things because that's how I'd know a man respected me... I personally don't want to think that much and I do like when guys do those things because it makes me feel special and kind of girly even though I'm fairly independent bit I also like to reciprocate because we're all human and want to feel valued and cared for...so like I said at the very beginning just be yourself. Be genuine and be kind. Sent from my LG-Q710AL using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hi! What state are you from? I'm not looking to date but more to make like mined friends! I had surgery on March 14th 2019! 4 months out and I'm down 100lbs. I go to the gym 1-3 times a day. I'm trying to. 1)keep lean muscle on as I'm losing weight. 2) Feel as accomplished and energetic and as amazing as possible 3) Optimize the first year window of weight loss and 4)...well... I honestly just love going to the gym and feeling great about how I've just spent my time. I love showing others that it can be a joy and not a chore. I love love LOVE being active. I'm 4 months post op bypass. Does anyone know where our macros should be? I'm wanting to log food in my fitbit app. Also what is a healthy calorie intake? I'm not looking for peoples opinions just if you've spoken to and gotten this info from your Dr or nutritionist or if you yourself have a background in nutrition. Thank you. I WILL be double checking with my own team but won't be able to until Wednesday and just wanted some info to get me through the weekend. Thank you! My hair is falling out in a handfuls. I hadn't been getting in even close to all my protein until about 2 weeks ago. I figured out a protein shake that has about 55 grams now and I started on biotene about 1.5 weeks ago. Anyone know how looking it takes this stuff to correct after you start getting protein in and taking biotene? Sent from my LG-Q710AL using BariatricPal mobile app

protein shakes make me puke
Jezzabelle360 replied to jennj's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I used to live to mix the banana and caramel together and after surgery I suddenly couldn't stomach them. I'm not lactose intolerant. My pouch just didn't like it. I'm now drinking clear premier protein shakes. I don't love them but I don't hate them and I can tolerate them. Also you can freeze them into popsicles [emoji4] Sent from my LG-Q710AL using BariatricPal mobile app
