I agree with the majority of comments. I actually got a counselor when I began my journey. I didn't gain weight until I was raped as a teen. Then I gained 100 pounds. Food was my comforter. I wanted to be thinner but as it started to happen I had flashbacks of how I looked when I was raped. Therapy is a blessing. Communicate with your husband. Ask him how he feels about the new you. I know some of the TV shows highlight men leaving, but there are men who honestly love you as a person and not your body. My boyfriend met me when I was 269. He pretty much likes me as long as I like me. Hear that again, men are most attract to you when you like the person YOU see in the mirror. Confidence is sexy. Hubba, hubba. LOL

The slower you lose with exercise and toning, that less likely you will need skin surgery. I lost quickly at first, then plateaued and all of a sudden all the excess weight was gone. I have skin, but not enough for insurance to cover. You are doing well.

That's not alot of food. Take it from someone who is almost 4 years out. You will eat more as time goes on. I don't eat normal size portions, but I guarantee I eat more now than right after surgery. The others are correct, protein and exercise are the most important. Believe me, your portions will fluctuate as you continue on this journey to not only lose the weight, but maintain it. I hope that helps.

Weight Gain After 4 years gastric sleeve
Chelle777 replied to Chelle777's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You're right. My initial weight loss, I got down to 159. The doctor said I was to small so we agreed on 170. None of these numbers are good for that stupid BMI chart, but it worked for me. Just this past year, I started eating junk and gained 20 pounds. I lost 7 thus far, but I didn't like that it all went to my hips and I had to by all new bottoms. YUCK!!! I just want to be 170 again. -

I only had skin on my thighs and hangy breast. My stomach looked great. Be careful and research your surgeon. I don't want you on that show Botched. LOL -
The membership doesn't have to be expensive. In the early stages of my weight loss, I was addicted to the gym. I worked out up to 5 hours a day 7 days a week. TOOO MUCH!!! I did weight lifting, kick boxing, zumba, you name it. Find a gym that meets your needs, but more importantly, GO!! I stopped going and its hard to pick up that habit. HARD!!! Don't stop. You can slow down, but keep going. Also, paid tooo much for the ball. $16 at Walmart.

I wish I was told that you may have loose skin even if you don't lose over 100 pounds and no insurance will pay to have it removed because it won't cause rashes. Yuck!!! -
The hardest thing for me was getting used to not drinking during a meal. No water at all. 30minutes before or after. Sometimes longer. I can't eat and go lay down because it will come up. You will get to know your body and what works for you.

Tip on nausea. I had the same issue when I first lost the weight. You know how you eat something and you just want that one more bite. NO!!! That will push you over the edge and I had acid reflux for years until I mastered that. Your stomach is still getting used to what you can and can't eat now. I can eat everything but lactose. Some people can't eat rice or bacon. It all depends. Hope that helps.

Congratulations!! "Don't get comfortable " is my only advice. You have to keep exercising and eating right to keep it off. I am almost 4 years out. As the years pass you will be able to eat more (not alot), get taste for sweets and fast food. Keep it in check. The hard part begins after the weight loss. Congrats!

Weight Gain After 4 years gastric sleeve

Thank you so much. Yes this move was difficult in a variety of ways. The home I rented was a mess. My movers never delivered my belongings and the week after I moved to Houston, my Mom died. My boss and I don't get along. I am trying not to be so hard on myself. I took the advice from Healthy_life2 and I got back on my Fitness Pal and also joined a challenge. Today has been good. Even when I want a bag of chips I tell myself no. I worked out this morning and have eaten well thus far. One day at a time. I appreciate the encouragement. -

Thank you -
I am new to the forum. I recently moved from Wisconsin to Texas and I gained 20 pounds with that transition. I have it down to 15, but I am very upset with myself. I want to be back at my original weight loss weight. Does anyone have a similar story or how to triumph?? Thank you so much.
