My doctor told me to expect 1 pound a week and that has stayed true. Slow and steady wins the race!

I was sleeved March and was down 17.8 at my 3 week check. I see these big numbers and think what am I doing wrong? I have to keep telling myself to not compare because we are all different and our bodies have different needs. While at times I am jealous...most of the time i feel good about my decision and progress. Stay positive everybody! Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

How are drinking that much fluid a day? The max I was told to drink was 1 ounce every 15 minutes and work up to 2 ounces per 15 minutes. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I started pureed today. I tried chicken noodle soup. The texture is not doing it for me but I ate 3.8 ounces then started burping which is my sign that I am full. Apple sauce was better but could only 2.5 ounces. Nutritionist said many just stay on thicker liquids until soft food stage...I might follow suit. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm 14 days post OP today and am hungry most of the time. I wonder if it is "muscle memory" so to speak. I'm still very sore but hoping to turn a corner soon. Stay hydrated! Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm pretty sore... 6 days out and haven't really lost any weight. Not sure why, but I'm following the directions to a T! I feel hungry most of the day and not sure why... I am getting 80+ grams of protein a day and drinking at least 4 ounces per hour sometimes up to 6... and still hungry. I have one incision that is super soar when I sit down or stand or bend over, but hoping that will subside soon. And I do miss my Diet Dr. Pepper!!! How are you feeling?

Being in emotional pain for the better part of 45 years and now in physical pain for several years and after dozens of failed attempts to lose weight, I've decided on bariatric surgery. Surgery is scheduled for March 6, 2019. I was excited for about a minute... then the fears set in. How drastically will my life change when I lose the weight? Will my husband and I still love each other? Will our lives take such different paths that we grow apart? What will family and colleagues say/think? Am I vain for wanting to do this? Then there is the uncertainty of success... Can I truly commit to this new lifestyle? Will this be added to list of failures? I am committed to this decision and yet as I sit here while the family is still asleep, with tears streaming down my face, I keep asking myself "why are you afraid to be thin?"

6 days post op and I have one incision that is painful - the biggest one. I hope it heals in the next couple of days. Have not had much weight loss this past week which is disappointing. I'm getting 80+ grams of protein a day and an ounce of fluid every 15 minutes I'm awake, but I feel hungry most of the day. Hoping my stomach was made small enough! Keeping positive and increasing my steps every day, so keep your fingers crossed.

Oh, those same thoughts have been spinning through me for years.... why am I holding on to this "cushion" of protection? Sending you positive thoughts for success and emotional healing!

I am 5 days post op and my stomach hurts some times when I drink too. like it is stuck at the opening. then goes away. I'm hungry most of the time which concerns me, but the pain is managed well with Tylenol and Advil. It just takes so long to take all the pills. . . an hour to get it all in (Tylenol is liquid, but the Advil is not). I've been averaging 80+grams of Protein a day thanks to genpro ( https://smile.amazon.com/GENEPRO-Musclegen-Research-Flavorless-Certified/dp/B00K6OSDYA/ref=sr_1_5?_encoding=UTF8&hvadid=174268468981&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9033569&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=14981272652004684345&hvtargid=kwd-12063637423&keywords=genpro&qid=1552331291&s=gateway&sr=8-5&tag=googhydr-20&th=1 ) But i'm still hungry. Also using GenPro with shakes from Optavia which have 11 - 14 grams of protein and are 8 oz has really been a great solution... they taste great and the variety provides some great options.
