  2. I don't think you're being impulsive. I had a moment in mid August where I just had it with my weight. WLS was never ever an option in my mind prior to that point. It was something drastic and invasive "other" people did who had no self control. And yet I have been on some kind of diet every year for the past 15+ years and I was steadily approaching 300 lbs. I knew I had to do something. I simply couldn't do it on my own anymore. I knew in my heart I had exhausted all options. I tried every diet known to man. I called the surgeons office that afternoon and had my 1st seminar with the hospital 2 weeks from that date and my 1st consult with him 2 weeks after that. My insurance required me to jump through hoops so I had 4 months to think about it and research. I read every article, the pros and cons, watched YouTube videos and lurked message boards to get the full picture of what I was signing myself up for. If I paid out of pocket my surgeon would have been able to do my surgery within 4-6 weeks from 1st consultation with him. I was annoyed with the 4 month supervised dieting process because as someone said above, I've been dieting most of my whole life! Lol. But I rolled with the punches and I am currently 6 days post-op and feel this already is the best decision I've ever made. If you have exhausted all options, remain unhappy with your weight, unhappy with the state of your health due to your weight, did your research and desire a healthier happier you...go for it! I'm so glad I didn't wait and got the process going as soon as I did. Sent from my LG-K550 using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Hi everyone, I'm new to posting but have lurked here before and I'm so thankful for this community and all information and stories shared. I'm having my VSG surgery in 2 days 2/25/19 and I'm incredibly nervous, excited, terrified, happy...Just a mess of emotions. It doesn't help that I've never had surgery before. I'm sure these feelings are normal but I'm typically a zen, chilled out person so my question is... what are some things you did PRE-OP to calm your nerves before surgery? That's awesome. I was walking..more like shuffling the same day but its the gallbladder incision causing me soreness and slowing me down. Other than that, I'm ok. How are you doing with water/liquids? Sent from my LG-K550 using BariatricPal mobile app

Anyone get their sleeve February 2019

I had mine 2/25 so I'm 2 days post-op. Also had my gallbladder removed which is causing most of my pain. Struggling to get water down so I'm sipping what I can. Sent from my LG-K550 using BariatricPal mobile app

Glad to hear it went well. I also had mine on Monday but in pain due to them also removing my gallbladder. My vsg incisions don't really hurt. So hopefully the pain subsides. Struggling to get water down as well. Sent from my LG-K550 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Thanks to everyone for the advice. I took in everything that was said. Surgery went well and now I'm home. The nurses on the Bariatric floor said I was their star patient. I was up and walking and doing laps as soon as I felt I could. I have a lot of pain in the incision site where they took my stomach and gallbladder out. I think if it was just vsg, I would be in little to no pain. But I'm home resting, walking and sipping water. Thanks everyone! Sent from my LG-K550 using BariatricPal mobile app
