Hi there! So I was informed today that I need to be at the hospital tomorrow evening at 12noon for my surgery. However I cannot eat/drink after midnight. That's 12+ hours with no food/drink! Is this normal? What can I do to help me out? I plan to go to work tomorrow morning to stay busy, thinking that it may help keep my mind off of wanting to eat/drink however I'm thinking it may be easier to sleep through it in the morning then head to the hospital. What worked for you?

It went well everyone. Freaking out over nothing. I was thinking about the number 12, not taking into consideration I slept 6 hours of that, then got up and went to work to further keep myself occupied. I'm now entering day1 post-op. Thanks for asking! I am having gastric bypass. My journey started in October, 3 months of nutritional visits, a couple of Dr. appts, submitted my paperwork to insurance 2/15 and was approved 2/19!.
