I'm 23 years old and decided on weight loss surgery because the genetics in my family have pretty much pre-determined me to die young so long as I remain obese. I've tried lots of things to lose weight and nothing worked, I simply kept gaining weight until I hit almost 400 pounds. I had a few health conditions that I shouldn't have at my age, it scared me so I started looking into surgery to help me lose weight. My doctor and I both agreed a sleeve surgery would be the best route to lose the weight so that I don't succumb to the problems that arose from my weight. The surgery went well but afterwards has been a struggle. Soon after surgery I couldn't eat or drink without throwing everything up, I had to have a PICC line (an IV that is made to stay in you longer than a normal IV) to get nutrition until I could eat again, I got a blood clot after that, now I've started throwing everything up again. The only things I seem to keep down are few and far between. I continue to get sick with bronchitis, pneumonia and everything else I come into contact with, those are all the bad sides to my journey. The good thing is at only three months post op I have lost just over 100 pounds.
