Beth, I agree with you 100%. To me it looked like they starved themselves just to make sure they won the thing. Jerry looked like he is sick with something really bad and Helen reminded me of a friend of mine who was anorexic and would work out for hours at a time. I think Tara is going to go on to bigger and better things. She looked so good. Wow both Mike and Ron lost 200 or so a piece! Awesome! I wonder if they will have a lapbander on there next season:wink:

I know Helen won the thing, but does she look bad or what. Look at her neck and arms. Tara may not have won but she looked awesom!

I don't want this to become a religous debate but I am looking for some questions
BeckyinTn replied to babygrl1234's topic in Rants & Raves
BG, here are some questions that I have asked of my pastor: Can grace ever be "lost"? Are all sins equal under God....If not, what's the worst? What is your favorite Gospel and why? In answer to the question of all sins equal under God the answer is no. There is only one sin that will not be forgiven and that is blaspheming the Holy Ghost. This can be found in Mark 3:29. For me faith can not be reasoned. It just is. I think of faith like I think of love. I can't physically see it but I know it is there. -
Here's some food for thought. Why can't we have on forms for those "married" in a religous ceremony say they are married and for those who were not married in a religous ceremony say they are legally wed? All of this mess is basically over one word. Don't both of those terms mean the same thing? I mean this is not rocket science, so why can't we come up with something that will suit most everyone. I was not "married" in a religious ceremony, but at a JP. I for one would not have a problem marking on my paperwork "legally wed".

I agree. There are religions that are CLEARLY hateful, and I have no problem mocking them (I'm thinking of the radical baptist church that protests soldiers' funerals and breaks up AIDS rallies....I think they're out of TN). It helps that I'm a conservative, and as such, everybody on here expects me to be intolerant and insensitive anyway. It's you liberal types that have to shoulder the "tolerant" load, heehee. I'm kidding. Those hateful people in that church are from Arkansas not Tennessee. The tried to disrupt a funeral here in TN, but were run out of the state by some biker group. These are the type of people who give Christians a bad name.

I am with you Plain. I just don't get it!

IMHO I think that she loves the "baby" stage. What I mean by that is the way they smell, the size, and the fact they are so cuddly at that stage. If you look at the ages of her kids it seems like once they hit toddlerhood she was getting pregnant with another. I do believe she does love her kids in a very selfish kind of way. It is not what she can give her kids, but what they can give her. She is a very needy person from what I have seen. She really has serious issues and really needs to get help.
-
Sure, I don't have an issue with gay marrigae. I do believe there can be a compromise as to what it can be called. The lightening rod here seem to be the issue of calling it marriage. If the word "marriage" is the problem then surely to goodness we can up with a term that means the same thing. I think that a commited gay couple should be allowed a legal ceremony so that they can have the same rights as a commited straight couple. Like I said before it is their life. God did give us free will. If the choices we make are wrong the we have to atone for them. PG I do have a question for you. If someone who has accepted Christ as their savior dies and has not confessed to a sin does that mean they are not going to go to heaven? *********************************************** I was taught and believe that once saved always saved. I am not putting your beliefs down I just want to know.
-
I really believe that PG believes that she has a misson to point out what she believes is "sin". I don't think (I maybe wrong here) that she means to hurt anyone, but try and save them. Even though she means well it comes accross as hateful. I hate the fact that people are hurt and offended. As a Christian I believe that I lead by example not by condemation. It is not up to me to point out other peoples sin. I have enough of my own to account for. I sure don't need anyone else's. The one thing that I know for sure is that God loves everyone. I know that it states in the Bible there is only one unforgivable sin and that is blaspheming the Holy Spirt. Everything else can and will be forgiven, and for that fact I am grateful.
-
PG I do understand what you are trying to do. I think that you really want for everyone to adhere to the Bible and live according to the scripture. I will tell you what my Grandpa (who was an missionary in Central America for more that 40 years)told me. He said "The thing people need to hear is God loves them no matter what and that he sent his son to die for them because he loved them. After they have accepted this then they will listen to what you are trying to say, but if I go into the jungles or villages and start from the first telling them that their way of life or what they know is wrong they will not listen to what I have to say. The goal of a Christian is to lead others to Christ not run them off." I think you mean well but your approach is too aggressive.
-
PG all I was trying to do is make a point to those who are gay and believe in Christ and have made him their Lord and Savior that it doesn't mean just because they are gay they will not go to heaven. I think that some of the people on here think that is what you are saying! I never ever said that YOU hated anyone! I don't have a thing against you! I have however seen many gay people turn their backs on their faith because they believe they will not get into heaven because this is a "sin". I find that so sad. I for one will have alot to answer for when I get there, but I do try everyday to what I believe is right. Yet everyday I fall short. If being gay is a sin then those who are will have to answer for it not me. I know however that God loves them and if they love and have accepted his son then they will be forgiven for what ever just like I will.

Hold on there!!! I was not talking about you! I never said you did! Just where in my post did I mention your name! All I was saying was all of this stuff leads to hate! Which to me is very very sad!
-
Name calling and animosity leads to hate and for me personally hatred is a bigger “sin”( if you believe that being gay is a sin) than being gay. I think hate saddens God more than anything else! I don’t believe that if you have accepted Jesus as your savior that you will not be allowed to enter in to heaven because you are gay. I know what the Bible says in the Old Testament (which is the old covenant) about it being a sin ( I don’t remember it saying that you couldn’t get in to heaven) and I know what the New Testament (New Covenant) says about how to get to heaven and that is through Jesus! I swear I don’t remember anywhere in the Bible where it says that gay people who have accepted Jesus as their savior are going to hell. I do have a question on this topic. Why can’t there be two separate names for “marriage”?Why can’t it be called marriage for those who have religious beliefs and wedded for those who are not? Both words really mean the same thing!

Oh, how I can relate to all of these posts! I have to tell you the two that really grate on my nerves are two that my husband (southern boy from the hills of Tennessee) uses. Here they are: Tire-I never know if he is talking about an automobile tire or a radio tower. Pillar-I have to ask are you wanting a pillow or are you talking about one of the pillars on the front porch. My MIL always says "It don't make no nevermind to me!" WTH!! I think what she is trying to say is "I don't care!" I have to say his grammer gives a lot to laugh about!

I am not surprized that Mike acted cocky after all he is 18. I am surprized that Kristin was shocked about getting voted off. This has been coming for the last 2 weeks! I am glad that everyone sitting at that table finally saw that Ron will do anything to ensure that either him or Mike will win this! He prefers Mike to win since it won't look to good if he does! What a turd!!

.(My ex watched the show with me this week. He asked "how did he get a woman like that?" I told him that everyone seems to really like him, but I don't see it!) They say love is blind! I don't hate the man. I just don't like him. I find him lazy and do full of excuses for why he can't do anything! I wonder what would have happened it he had been placed on Jillian's team instead of Bob's. There would have been some major fireworks that is for sure since she doesn't except excuses!!
-
I have to agree with all that have stated that it is time for Mike to grow a pair. I think he will once the show is over, but right now the only one he can depend on is his dad. I would love to know how much his (Mike) has changed since the show is over. To me Mike is changing and growing up little by little on the show..just small changes but they are there. Just remember he did decided to pick Jillian instead of Guru Bob which didn't make daddy dearest too happy. I don't think he flipped a coin in order to choose. I think he said that not to hurt Bob's feelings. I think that hopefully Ron will be going home this week coming up! Oh and Tara still Rocks!!!!!
-
Ok here is my 2 cents worth.. Tara..she absolutley rocks...I hope she wins the entire thing!! Anyone that works as hard as her and with the determination she has deserves it!! She looked awesome tonight!!! Philipe..or how ever you spell it..he just rubs me the wrong way...don't know what it is..don't like the dude!! Lara..I felt so bad for her....she has gotten nothing but bad breaks (no pun intended) this whole season! Kristin...eh..not sure...I think she really wants to lose the weight and not for the money..I just can't figure out the obsession that she (Ron and Philipe) has about Bob.:huh2:There are some shows where I like her ok and then others where I am like ok now..time for you to go! Helen..she is playing the game..all of those "friendships" or alliances or whatever..she threw them away...she is wanting to win the entire thing...did you see what she said at the vote when she lifted the lid and it had Kristin's name on it...(I understand Tara not voting Laura off but hey Helen come on who are you trying to kid...you don't wish you could take care of Laura because you love her like a daughter...you are worried about Kristin) Ron.. ugh..don't like him but I did like what he said tonight about Laura needing to go and get the help she needs...now he needs to go..he has a 400lb son at home who needs him... Mike--I love that kid..if Tara was not on the show he would be my fave to win...he is so cute! I have never cried so much as when they had Max on...I know that he is only 17 and that is why he is not on the show this season...they need to have him on for next season...oh how that kid broke my heart!!

Beth, I happen to agree with you! We sure have recieved "change" havent we. I honestly think that the goverment is being run by people sitting around trying to figure out what the hell to do and when someone comes up with an idea they jump on it no matter how stupid or far fetched the idea is. It seems like they are willing to try anything and if it does work what the hell we'll just try something else. Doen't matter what is costs! I can tell you as far as illegal immigration goes I grew up in a Texas border town and 35 plus years ago it was known to all of the lawmakers there was a problem then with the amount of them coming accross, but no one had the guts to do anything about it. I understand why they want to come here, but do it legally and please learn english. Try to assimilate. I have lived in a different country and I had to learn to speak the language and had to assimilate so if I can they can. If the government would have done something about the problems we are facing when they first came to light instead of trying to pass the buck to the other party then we might not be in as bad as shape as we are now. No one seems to have the gut, balls or what ever to step up to the plate and say ok this is what is wrong..here's what happened, here's some options of how we are going to fix it..shit let us decide how it is going to be fixed! Call a special election..give us the information and let us decide. After all it is our money..not just theirs. Problem is we have given these people too much power for too long. All they give a damn about is getting re-elected! Hell, look at the big bucks they are making along with those extra perks..and the power that goes along with it. Wonder if they would still want the job if it only paid 50k a year and there were no life long perks? Doubt it! It is time the we became for the people by the people again!

Damn, Beth you nailed it! I completely agree with what you are saying! Most of the people (legal Americans) agree with your viewpoint. The problem is the senate, congress, and the Presidents (both Bush and Obama) haven't listened to us. They think that we the people are not intelligent enough to know what is best for us! Yet everytime we have an election all of them (Dems and Repubs) love to say "I hear you! I feel your pain"! BS!!! What is the point of having town hall meetings to listen to the "pulse of the American people"? When they aren't going to pay attention to a damn thing we have to say! It is just for show! What pisses me off is the individuals who are making the decisions don't know or care what it is like to try and make ends meet because they are making at least 100k a year along with all of the perks that go along with the job. Most of them were wealthy to begin with! Yes there is GREED here! The CEO's and the politicians are GREEDY! There is enough blame to go around! I don't hate Obama! I think he is misguided along with most of those in Washington. I was willing to give him a chance to fix this, but not at the expense of my 3 kids future. No, I didn't vote for him, but just because I didn't does not mean I am dead set against him. I am not! I am against his agenda when it comes to economic policies. I was raised to respect the office of the President even if I don't agree with some of the things he does. We lost that respect of office due to the hatred people had for Bush. I can tell you that as a Tennessean if Gore had gotten into office we would be a hell of alot worse off than we are now! The man is pretty much useless. The only thing that he can do is preach about global warming and that is it. Most folks in this state feel the same way. Why do you think he lost his home state in the 2000 election? My opinion for what it is worth is to vote these folks (Repubs and Dems) that have helped get us in to this mess out of office.

i did feel bad for Nicole! But damn she lost alot of weight on her own at home! Did anyone catch it when Ron said that everyone thinks he is the one running things, but he is not! Yeah Right! Dude you have been malipulating everyone for the first 13 weeks! You need to go! Mike will be ok! Look at how well he is doing! You need to go home and help your other son! Kristin please shut up! You agree with the cousins that Ron was not part of the "alliance" anymore yet you did not stick with the "alliance" to vote him off! What is up with that? Hmmm..maybe you are a bit two faced ! Oh yeah and who the hell is Helen kidding about friendship! Uh, Nicole hasn't been there for weeks yet you act like she is you best bud! Please! Ok, done ranting about it now!

I was wondering how many have gained the weight back. If I had to work my a$$ like they do I would try like hell not to gain it back once I left the show. I think they should have a BL with former contestants who gained the weight back and each one would switch trainers like they did this season. For me that would be interesting TV.

For me "yes" God is real. I believe that too much of an emphasis has been placed on the religous doctrine that each denomination has. Every religion has their own and it is based on what man's interpretation is. With that being said I do believe that the Bible is the word of God based on on what mans interpretation of it is. I believe in having a "personal" relationship with God and Jesus. I believe that we all have free will to choose to believe or not to believe. It is a personal decision for everyone. As far as different cultures having different gods for me the explination is simple..most have one god that is above the others even though they may worship other gods. I have always believed the quickest way to get someone not to accept your views or beliefs is to try and force it upon them.

For the past 4-5 I have been having pretty bad acid reflux. I am having sinus drainage and I think they maybe part of the problem. What do you take for your acid reflux? I have taken Prevacid (the ones that melt in your mouth). Thanks!

I can totally relate to what you are saying. I was banded a week before you and I though by now I would be down 50lbs as well. My issue has been eating bigger portions than what I need to. It is a struggle for me since I have to so used to eating huge portions I can't get my head to believe that this little bit is going to fill me up! Becky
