MEN 300-350 LBS WEIGHT LOSS
Greenstar replied to New&Improved's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
yeah i started at 310, im 191 now. everything was worth it. went from a xxl and i can fit into a large. went from a 50x32 to a 36x32. sweat pants will be your friend, i purchased jeans and ended up having to get rid of them 2 months later because it was so baggy. dont let people tell you that you are getting to skinny, i get that a lot and it bothers me. -
3-4 oz 4 times a day, then again i do physical labor and its all protein.
-
did you get the sleeve?
-
yeah it sucks, then it turns into like an every other week stall. just keep at it, do what you do and don't be discouraged. the hard part is done already now its just adjusting your life style
-
im 5 months out, on average i lose 20 pounds a month. at the start it was like 30 then it starts to slow down. then the stalling hits
-
i stall, i was at the same weight this whole week. then boom 5 pounds fell off. i have never not loss though i either stay the same or drop.
-
it felt like death. it was the most nauseous i have ever felt. it was almost like food poisoning and you don't know when you will have to run to the bathroom. I honestly had to skip work it was so bad. ive had it once and never again

Anyone else hiccup when they are full?
Greenstar replied to Sleeved in DFW :-)'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have learned to stop before the hiccups. i also put the fork down between bites and not in a hurry. you will get full and feel it, doesnt take much anymore -
Stretching pouch directly after surgery?
Greenstar replied to Krestel's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
hiccups generally mean you are full -
im 5 months out and still cant do chicken. unfortunately its those shakes for a little bit for you guys that just had the surgery.
-
every month and it lasts for a few days for me atleast . its alright, your body needs time to recover.
-
you will start feeling restrictions as soon as you eat something that doesnt agree or you over eat. i just accepted the fact i will probably never have chicken again. just keep getting your protein and water, you will be fine

Do you ever feel you are losing too fast?
Greenstar replied to Emma2.0's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
im dropping about one and half pounds a day, but i do crazy physical work and walk for miles at a time while eating lean foods with no fat or sugar. you will stall and your body is pretty much resting during the stalls, then you lose like crazy again. -
Almost 2 months pos-op, can't keep certain foods down
Greenstar replied to Ellf's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
i still cant do chicken, i do a lot of lean ground turkey and sometimes i can do steak. but chicken is hard for me, i usually throw it up. stay away from chicken for now -
Return to Work after Surgery
Greenstar replied to JerseyNJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i do physical labor work, so i had to take 6 weeks off. -
How do i get more potassium? i wake up with leg cramps in the middle of the night, i loved bananas but i was told they were to high in sugar.
-
just a heads up, it seems that eating half a banana has stopped it, as long as i eat it before bed. i noticed when i dont eat it i get them. might be unrelated but as long as it works lol
-
just had half a small banana, tasted amazing. hopefully it solves the leg cramps

Greenstar replied to 2Bsmaller18's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
worked for me, couldnt stand the pureed food so i just chewed a whole bunch -
i got denied 7 times, i had to prove it was medically necessary, it wasnt because it was below the bmi its because they dont want to pay. insurance sucks, dont worry though the doctor knows what to say

How’d you Choose? Sleeve v.s. Bypass?
Greenstar replied to NotActive1234's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i had servere gerd, and the sleeve could make it worse. so i had no choice i had to get the bypass. honestly, if you do what you are supposed to the bypass isnt that bad. ive never had a problem with dumping and all my medical conditions are gone. sleep apnea, gerd, high blood pressure, pre diabetic, everything is gone day 1. -
February 2019 weight loss buds
Greenstar replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
dont look at the scale every day, its really bad and can be discouraging. i learned this when i got my three week stall. i know i average about 1.5 pounds loss a day now. calories are nothing to worry about if you follow what you are supposed to eat. 3 oz worth of protein 4 times a day so i can meet the 60 grams of protein. main diet is skinless and boneless chicken breast, low fat lean ground turkey, and low sodium beans. -
why celery? it provides nothing. protein is what you need to get.
