So, here's how my weight loss has been the past few weeks. During the week, I fluctuate up or down a pound, but when the weekend comes, the weight just drops off. I personally have to wonder if it's because I get more sleep on the weekend than during the week, or if there's some other reason. Anyone else notice this sort of pattern?

I had Peanut Butter in my mushies stage, but I had it mixed with protein powder, oats, and (well, this was bad) honey. I tried making protein balls with sugar-free maple syrup, but that didn't taste nearly as good. I really don't like maple syrup.

I'm 3.5 months out and I still have issues with salad.

I eat more or less the same during the week as I do on the weekends. I just get less sleep during the week. (Roughly 6 hours a night on weeknights vs 8-10 on the weekend)

Told today No Bypass must be sleeve
Ellf replied to Draven298's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was told that I would be getting a bypass unless my surgeon felt it was safer to do the sleeve. Luckily I got the bypass. I wish you luck. -
For lunch today, i decided to have a shredded chicken mini-quesadilla from taco bell with extra shredded chicken. It went down okay, and to my surprise, I was able to eat the entire thing. Except, after taking those last couple bites... and now lasting more than half an hour later, I'm in physical pain as my restriction kicked in. Holy crap, this hurts. I'm currently hoping that it's not stuck because I've had that happen before. I'm not making this mistake again. If I do eat that again, it will only be half. (It's sad because before the surgery, I'd eat one of these in addition to whatever else I ordered at Taco Bell.)

So, one thing I've noticed, three months out, is that I'm able to tolerate more of certain foods than I am of others. Wendy's chili, I can eat a full small chili and not have any stomach issues, but if I try to have anything more than a 3 ounce lean meat burger, I have issues. A small chili is eight fluid ounces, but I figure it's at least half fluid in of itself. I've been eating protein and tracking my meals, but I'm seeing other programs have serving size guidelines. I forget if I do, but I have a protein target. What's everyone serving sizes looking like, and how far along are you?

How many calories do you eat a day?
Ellf replied to april042019's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can eat a whole Wendy's chili. It fills me up. I can also eat a whole bag of Quest protein chips or Protes protein popcorn. -
And I'm down 65 lbs. I'm finally below 300 lbs, and I couldn't be happier. I haven't been this weight in ten years. Hell, I haven't even been close to it since 2012. I know I'm going to continue the weight loss too. My highest weight was 427 lbs. April 2018. My weight on surgery day was 360.8. I weighed myself yesterday morning and was 295.2.

I've had Quest Nutrition bars... no dumping here. Then again, I have also been eating Halo Top without dumping.

Mio really helps me out. I can only occasionally do plain water.

Honestly, the low carb cheesecake isn't bad at all. I had it pre-op before. It's maybe 600 calories for the full slice, but let's be honest, WLS patients can maybe have a third of that. It's still really freaking big though. -
I'm in Akron, myself.

My only two go-to meals are three light mini Babybel cheeses for breakfast (50 cal each, 6 g protein each), and Wendy's chili (which I can now eat a full small chili... for 21 grams of protein and 210 cal). The rest I kind of play by ear. My workout consists mostly of me just walking around the office during the daytime and getting lots to drink. I should probably swim more, and am planning on getting some swimming in this week.

It's really weird because I had been 298.2 on Friday morning, but then I was 295.8 on Saturday, and 295.2 yesterday, and now 296.2. Jagged little weight graph.
-
Yeah, was a typo. 296.2 this morning.

How many calories do you eat a day?
Ellf replied to april042019's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I've gotten close to 1k a few days, but Most days I'm sub-1000. I'm honestly mostly sub-800. -
Ideally, I'd like to reach 175 myself. I'm 5'10"- 5'11"-ish. Realistically, I'd be happy with under 215.

How long to reach your goal?
Ellf replied to Brent701's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got under 300 lbs this week. I consider this my first milestone. My surgery date was March 26, and my weight at Surgery day was 360 lbs. -
I'm now about three months out and am looking to try to start adding some fruits and veggies back in to my diet. What recommended of each should I try? What should I avoid?
-
I'm cleared to eat "anything," but I just wanted some recommendations. (Anything, so long as the sugar content per serving is <10g.)

Was told by my doc that for WLS patients, one drink is about the equivalent of three. My mother had gastic bypass back in 2013, and last year, she was drinking with friends. She'd had four glasses of wine in four hours. She got pulled over on her way home and had a BAC of .15.

Soft food-wise... I'd recommend the grilled chicken. Or perhaps bringing food you know you'll be able to tolerate. When I was on soft food, grilled chicken didn't go down well for me, nor did burgers.
-
And... back above 300 this morning. Fluctuation 😐

How long do I have to take Actigall/Ursodiol?
Ellf replied to justmetj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is six months too. I've been taking it for three.
