I had my surgery on the 20th and I know I weigh more than I ever have. I feel like I am about to burst out of my own skin. Right now I'm just trying to heal....then worry about weight loss. I feel like I'm still retaining everything!

I just got on here to see if anyone else was having the same thing because I cant get a hold of my Doc and I don't think my stitches are infected...look more like allergic reactions and itch like crazy! Red all around the stitched areas. I took off all the tape and put on steri-strips but now I'm going to take that off too even though I was only 'Sleved' on the 20th...I can't stand the reaction and I'm going crazy! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one. Strange because my port area is the worst.....? Blistered the worst and that had no tape?

Nice that after reading a few of these they all seem to blend together....I feel like any one of these posts could have been mine....just change a few details but the the basic story and feelings are all the same. I keep thinking I can lose the weight, keep trying new things, cry and get depressed about it all the time....think about how my weight is holding me back in so many aspects of my life....UGH! But this is supposed to be my intro! I live in NC, 33 years old, I'm getting banded on the 20th in Mexicali Mexico by Dr. Aceves. I've been eating like it was going out of style this last week since I set the appointment, but reading some posts tonight I had better go on a pre-op diet starting tomorrow. I think I've gained another 10 lbs. in the last week. This site is great, I'm going to try and get on here a few times a week after surgery for motivation. So happy I'm a May Flower! Anyone on here scheduled for surgery with Dr. Aceves down in Mexicali, Mexico later this month? I am, and I'm going down on my own so I'm looking for anyone else out there for support. Or anyone who has been through the process already so I can hit you up with some questions!:thumbup: Look forward to hearing from anyone!

:confused2:I am really looking hard at having this surgery but I am afraid it will just be another waste of time and money......if I don't have the discipline to eat right and exercise now what makes me think that I will be able to do it after the surgery? But I also see how many people it has worked for, and they didn't all get fat like me unless they were binging and eating in excess before too....so what is the secret? How can I make it work for me this time?

Thanks for all the replies! Everyone on here makes a lot of sense. Giving me more to think about....but definetly leaning more and more towards banding, and doing it sooner...like ASAP! Nice to find people to identify with. Keywest girl....we are about the same age and weight so hang in there and show me how to do it!!!
