February 2019 weight loss buds
Dubchild replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Gottajustdoit: you absolutely nailed it . I’m having the exact same regrets and feeling of loss. Same day surgery as you and I sat with a bowl of my favourite chow mein in front of me all day Sunday just trying to take more than 2 bites of it at any given time. Feels like a huge loss at this point for sure -

I was having the same problem with overeating so I am limiting myself to 3 tablespoons of WHATEVER I’m eating at any given time before I pause 15 mins and then I’ll have two tablespoons etc until my portion (3/4 cup or 1 cup) is gone . Seems to be working for me with soups and cottage cheese etc -

Yep it’s always that last bite and then it feels stuck so instinctively I take a small sip of water and then it’s a foam party in my mouth for about an hour -

All programs are different and I think that’s why these forums are so helpful. I am 19 days post op and successfully had a 1/2 glass of wine last night in very small sips over the course of about 1.5 hours. No problems or trouble today. Two bites of Tim hortons chilli on the way home last night chewed up to the max. Live your life -

I’ve chewed up a couple things and spit them into the trash as well I think that’s a completely normal compromise for the first month. I have been getting a 2km walk in every day but unable to sleep longer than 2-3 hours a night.. I feel like I could eat anything and I have my wife’s birthday tonight I’ll be trying 1/4 cup of wine -

For those of us 2 weeks post op or more, how is everyone sleeping at night ? I can’t make it longer than 2-3 hours lying down without having to get up and move to a completely elevated position. All the while the sharp pains taking over the left side until I’m in a semi reclined spot (then pain is 100% gone).
