I am scheduled for bypass on 3/8. I am wondering after 6 weeks are you able to drink water faster than right after surgery? I am not able to stop and drink every 15 minuets to be sure I get my water in. I am hoping that by 6 weeks postop I can drink more at one time so I will not have to drink as often. I know everyone is different. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I live in the Rochester area. Had my surgery at Mayo.

I am up walking all the time. Not outside but just trying to keep busy at home. I have never really been a TV watcher so I am getting bored. My surgeon made me take off 4 weeks so I am looking for things to keep me busy. I live in Minnesota if the weather was warmer I would spend most of my time outside.

Not that I want any problems or issues but I am worried as to when it may happen. I am a 10 Days postop and have had no side effects. Got out of the hospital at 24 hours on Tylenol. Started purée 3 days ago and all has gone really smoothly. I drink about 4 ounces of water every 15 minuets.

I had surgery rny on 3/8. I also have the same issue. I figure since all I am putting in is fluids that’s all that is going to come out. I started purée today so will see if it changes any.

I am also from Minnesota. So about 35 miles from the Mississippi. -
So sorry to hear about kidney stones. From what I’ve seen from patients in the ER where I work it’s some of the worst pain. I hope you heal quickly.

3 Days postop from bypass and feeling good. Got up this morning started a load of laundry and made my son and granddaughter breakfast. I am still going to take it easy throughout the day but feel like I could do more.

Today’s the day. Good luck March 8thers. I’m nervous yet excited.

Only 1 week left. Saw the dietician and surgeon today and was surprised when they didn’t put me on any type of a preop diet. Just said nothing after 8 pm the night before.

March 8th for me.

Did anyone do a complete clean out of their pantry before surgery? I am thinking about completely emptying my pantry. My husband barely eats so he would not really care. I have made over a months worth of meals for my son and have them in the freezer. I am just thinking if I clear the pantry when I go to solids I can start fresh with only healthy foods. What have others done?

I didn’t get a preop diet either. I am going to just do high protein low carb much like after. I figured I might as well start. The week before I am going to do a liquid diet much like the others on this forum day they have to do.

Hi all I am new and have been looking around on the forums for the past couple of days. Pretty much to the point of addiction. I am scheduled to have surgery on March 8 for gastric bypass. I started the process in September and everything is going well. My insurance is awesome only waited about 2 weeks after I finished my group classes to get approved. Thanks to all the advice on preop I I feel ready to go waiting the next month is going to be hard. I am only required to do the liquid diet the week before surgery but from everything I have read on here I am going to start a lot earlier. Look forward to reading more about all of your experiences. SW 276 CW 258 GW TBD haven’t set that yet.

Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?
MomOf3+3 replied to J Johnston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am keeping mine private. My husband and 2 of my children that I see daily. I love my Mom but she is very judgmental and I don’t want to deal with negativity. My boss at work knows as I will have to take time off as for my coworkers I will just tell them I am having a procedure done. I am scheduled to have my surgery March 8. My husband is scheduled to have a kidney transplant March 26 so I will be off work until he is at least 3 weeks postop. A lot going on but I need to be healthy not only for myself but for my family. -
