Vsg with hypothyroidism, PCOs, and diabetes.

I am super interested in this too! I have PCOS and hypothyroidism too. My pcp is super laid back which is great for some things but not great for others. I take Levothyroxine for my thyroid and was wondering if my dosage would need to go up or down and how frequently. Anyones experiences would be appreciated. thanks! -

Good idea! Looks like your surgery is the day before mine, congrats!

I like genepro protein powder. It’s unflavored and is a small scoop for 30g protein. I mix it with water and crystal light powder and cannot tell its even in there. You can buy it at GNC or on Amazon.

Thank you! Im excited and impatient! I've had surgery several times before but never anything on my gut or that requires a hospital stay. I do better with more information so I'm gathering all I can

Thanks glad I'm not the only one 🙂

My surgery is in 3 wks and my preop appointment is Thursday so I am getting excited/ anxious. I would like as much detail about the day of as anyone can remember. Did you just have an IV? Did you have to have an injection before surgery? Basically I am a giant baby when it comes to needles. I’ve worked up to being ok with blood draws and ivs but still freak about regular injections. So advanced warning might help. After surgery did anyone have a drain? I think I read something that some people have them and others don’t....anyone know the reasoning? thanks!!

I’m in CT the company I work for has their main offices in MA so I think thats the base for my insurance... -
My doc said 6 months start to finish. However my potential date insurance willing is 5 months from start. I think it’s mostly insurance requirements

Anybody had success getting approved with this particular plan? How long did it take to get approval? If you were denied what did they require to get approved? My doctors office has never dealt with this particular plan so they sent in my stuff earlier then normal just to see what they came back with for a response. I have spoken to 3 different agents and gotten a copy of their pre auth form and their bariatric medical policy but all are very vague about what they want for proof of previous attempts and number of dietician appointments they require for approval.😕 thanks!

Morning all, I had my first appointment with the dietician yesterday and they gave me some paperwork showing examples of items that counted as protein, carbs, fats, and veggies and the serving amount that each counted as (1c of ... = 1 protein) . They also gave me a specific number of each that they wanted me to be having each day. Obviously not an exhaustive list or they would be giving me a library worth of paperwork. So my question is how do I figure out which category other foods fall under? Thanks!
