Hi Erica, Wow! You're so close! When are you getting your band? You must be so excited!!! Dr Washington, huh? I didn't know that Centra State does the band. I thought it was just GB. Do you have his phone #? I go all the way up to Morristown for fills. I wonder if I could get them through him. Thanks!!!

Hi everyone. Where are all my support buddies? I posted several days ago regarding info about the support group. I am trying to set it up for Thursdays at 6:30 pm (once a month). Does this work for everyone. The location is still up in the air depending upon who is interested. It would try be a central location for all. The time is flex as well. But I need to know ASAP who is definately interested so I can finalize plans. Please let me know. Private message me for a phone number if you wish to speak over the phone. Thanks! Hope to hear from you soon.

Monmouth/Ocean County NJ SUPPORT GROUP

Hey fellow central Jersey bandsters. It's great to hear that you're interested in the support group. So far, it's five of us. Okay, I figure we will meet once a month. Does Thurs. night at 6:30 work for all? If not, what does? Rules of public libraries is that we can have 2 meetings per year at each library. So we can library hop but what's a group of friends getting together? They don't have to know the purpose. We can also meet at someone's home or some other public place. Any ideas are certainly welcome. I just want this to be convenient for everyone so we stick with it. Yay, can't wait to meet you all! Let's plan this asap. -
Hi Maureen, It's great to hear from you. Wow, you're so close! I only have one other response (from Matawan), but hey, it's a start. I figure we'd meet once a month either my house(Jackson) or a library that's centrally located for all. I feel it would be great to get together and meet, share stories and help one another. Centrastate hospital has a support group only for gastric bypass and they have the nerve of charging $299 for the year. I wouldn't even pay that amount if they did have one for lap band. Anyway, can't wait to meet you! Even if it turns out to be just us, it would be nice to chat about what works and what doesn't. Hope to hear from you soon.

Anyone have trouble keeping restriction?
kittycat replied to kittycat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks Big Dog. Is a fill supoosed to only last a couple of weeks? I have a Vanguard (larger) band. It just seems ridiculous to go for fills every month. I wonder if I lost restriction, what happened to the saline in the band? -
Does anyone have any insight into loss of restriction? I've had 4 fills total. The first didn't restrict whatsoever. The second and third were great for a week and then I could eat regularly again. I thought the 4th fill was the answer to my dreams, but now after 3 weeks, I feel that if I'm not careful, I could eat a lot again! Dr. Bertha (Morristown) says there's no leak. Can there be a small leak or evaporation? Anyone have a similar problem or know what the heck is going on????

Hello fellow Jersey bandsters. Anyone in MONMOUTH/OCEAN counties want to get together for a support group? I am looking to start a support group in the Jackson area. Please email me ASAP. Abkin/Bertha support groups are wonderful however for those who live down here, it is hard to travel so far up north. Let's get together and support each other.:clap2:
