Food Before and After Photos
DanaC84 replied to GreenTealael's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have the veggie pro to make them myself. I’m NOT a gadget person but I use this one ALL the time. It comes with a thick and thin noodle blade and one for making chips. I tried making sweet potatoe chips in my air fryer but the directions I followed on line burnt them to a crisp. I’d like to perfect those. -

My family had Pasta House tonight for dinner. I’m actually the one who got it for everyone because I know the salads are one of my moms favs. Not one to cry in my Cheerios I made zoodles with turkey sausage, sautéd onions and mushrooms , cherry tomatoes and deglazed the pan with a dash of white wine. Was scrumptious !!! (And I’ll be eating it the rest of the week 😂) And sorry no after pic. My daughter came and cleared my plate for me before I got the chance. I ate about 3/4. And I found these appetizer forks of my grammas. Aren’t they adorable??!! -
AKA Pinterest for me 😍 I set a goal of 10lbs and lost 9. Close enough that I’m not bummed out. Thank you to our wonderful hostess @GreenTealael for another wonderful month!! Bring on May 🥳🥳🥳

I went shopping for the first time since surgery today! I thought I’d get the next two sizes down so I wouldn’t have to go back anytime soon. The 2nd size down are the ones that fit!! Whoop whoop

I’m so happy for you!!! Ice chips!! Ask for ice chips and I also asked for two ice bags. One for over my sternum and the other on my belly. I think it helped with swelling and it definitely felt good.

28) learn something new . One of my sons gifted my grandson with an aquarium when he upgraded to a larger tank so I got a crash course at the pet store on the neon fish he picked out. As well as getting girl grands their first beta. It was a fun day!! 29) do nothing . So far, so good 😂

I’m really excited for your loss!! I was in the same boat, scared to death to up my calories when my nut told me to. It took me days to try because basically I was basing my info on what I read on here and not taking HER advice. The very professional I was paying to lead me through this . She thought my body was in starvation mode at my very low calories. Same. When I upped them I started seeing results . At the moment I’m not seeing those drops and I think I’m too early to already be in maintenance so I’m taking a hard look again to see what can be tweaked . Again, congratulations and enjoy celebrating again today👍🏻

Sickness and dehydration after surgery

I’m glad they got those fluids in you!! Sorry for the kidney infection but glad they’re treating that as well. Tell your surgeon ALL of your symptoms and concerns. I’m terrible about not sharing ALL the details and you never know when that one little thing you share is going to give them insight into what’s going on. Good luck , rest up and keep us posted 😎 -
Sorry for the issues with your stricture. My DIL had a few of them! It was horrible . I hope it’s resolved soon and I agree, a good sense of humor can make anything more tolerable 😘

27) Just last week we put a deposit on a beach home on the gulf (ok close to the beach!!) for a week in summer of 2020. ALL of us are going . All my kids, their spouses and all the grands. It’s the first time all three of my kids, the hubs and I have all been on a vacation together since my oldest two started working at 16. So @Frustr8 post held special significance for me. Take the trip, eat the cake (but don’t REALLY eat the cake 😂) buy the dress. 👍🏻

It’s not a stupid question at all and I’m rather shocked your question at the drs office was brushed off. My initial plan told me I’d have to take them twice a days as well but I’m using one specifically formulated for bariatric patients so I only have to take one. As long as one meets the requirements you’ll be fine 😎

Yep, sipping constantly will become your new norm. Keep in mind that right after surgery you won’t be able to achieve that number but they are goals to work up too. I was able to start getting in all my water by about the 2nd week. Vitamins will most likely be chewable right after surgery depending on your surgeon . I take one multi and my chewable calcium first thing in the morning. I take a 2nd chewable calcium at lunch. My last calcium I take about 3. And then at bedtime I take my other multi vitamin . It seems overwhelming but you’ll quickly get into a routine. My nut gave hand outs with food progression plans as well as a suggested plan on how to get in all my water and vitamins . For the first few weeks /month I had my vitamin schedule on the front of the fridge . Good luck and I’m sure you’ll do great 👍🏻

All of the above (my dr and nut say coffee and tea are fine to count) as well as any liquids used in cooking as in your soups/broths

Fingernails tearing off bad 6.5 months out RNY

Thanks for this as well!! I cannot wait to add it to my regimen! On my last visit with my primary she gave me a script for a retinoid (tretinoin gel 0.025%). Because I’m over 50 insurance won’t cover it (it’s main use is for acne but causes quicker cell renewal). I looked on GoodRX and got a coupon for $83 off. In just a week and a half two age spots that were raised on either side of my face are GONE!! I’ve tried using it on my neck but it some pretty strong stuff and has caused irritation . It says if that happens to back off to every other day. I also have to use sunscreen. Just throwing this out there for the other woman of a certain age. And I think with the coupon it was less than $85. -

Thanks for this!! Mine have started peeling down to the quick in the last few weeks. I’ve been doing biotin for years and had also added l-lysine (supposed to be good for hair , skin and nails 🤷🏼♀️) I just ordered some collagen in pill form after reading reviews on amazon that the powder scan leave a greasy feeling . Don’t know if pill form will cut it or not but if not I’ll switch to the powders. Any thoughts? -
I’m thrilled to be following your results !! Very proud of you getting back to basics. I’m only 3 months out so that severe lethargic feeling on the liquid diet is still fresh! I don’t know how you’re managing all those steps but keep up the great work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I agree. Contact your surgeon ASAP . They may or may not direct you to go to the ER but you need the opinion of a healthcare professional. Good luck and keep us posted.
