Same and from what I’ve read it’s pretty common. My son and DIL both had wls and I used to freeze to death when I went there to babysit the grands. They’d keep their thermostat at 68F, after surgery they kicked that baby up to 74F with sweats and hoodies on 😂. I used to hate socks because my feet were always hot. Now they’re on 24/7.

Lucky 7!!! Congratulations 🎈🎉🎊

Ouch! Did you have issues with GERD or stomach acid prior to surgery?
-
One of my nurses said almost that exact thing to me post op when I thought I was being a weeny trying to sit up. She said, “honey, you’ve basically just been stabbed 5 times”. And yes, I’m still had pain in my abdomen for at least the first two weeks. And even after that during certain movements or just overdoing it in general. All of us heal at different rates but definitely take those pain meds if you need them. It doesn’t make you any less strong (just wise) =)

I can’t speak for all drs but mine told me it was to shrink the size of my liver for easier access to my stomach during surgery.

You look fabulous and so happy! I bet it felt gooooo ooD to strut around in those heels! Keep up the great work and I hope you get that extra time off work 🙏🏼

100 Pounds Down in 6 Months!!!! (Pics)

Congratulations!!! You should be very proud! -
Hi Eliza! I’ll be 6 weeks out on Monday from having my sleeve so I wouldn’t count me as a pro or a vet but I can give you my experience so far. Right after surgery I had no hunger pains but they’ve returned. Not anything outrageous but hunger when I should legitimately be hungry. I think when you see most people talking about portion control it’s because too much will make you physically sick. And it’s not a “throw up and feel better” kind of thing. You can end up feeling sick and being in pain for hours. Do I still deal with head hunger? Absolutely! Do I keep it under control? So far, pretty much. This is definitely not the “easy route”. It’s hard work and takes commitment. But the alternative for me was not an option. I already have so many positives (not to mention the $$ I’m not having to spend every month on multiple drugs I’ve been able to get off. ) I am confident you will make the best decision for you! Would I do this again? In a heartbeat!!!

Need a recommendation for last minute psych eval

I wish I still had the list my surgeons office provided me. I do know all of the online/phone ones were out of pocket. I’d contact your surgeons office if I was you. Sorry I’m not more help. Hopefully someone will chime in -
When does it get better?
DanaC84 replied to EspeciallyKK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon gave me a script for Zofran before I left the hospital. OTC you can try Dramamine but it makes me awfully sleepy. I hope it passes soon but everything you listed seems right on par. The first week sucks! Keep sipping =) -
All great advise here! I’d stick to walking or stationery bike. Don’t make the mistake I did. We had awful below zero weather In January here and I was getting frustrated so I tried my resistance bands thinking I’d just do arms and legs. Worse mistake ever!! It set me back to how I felt the first week post op and took a good 5 days to recover. Thank God I didn’t do any long term damage and I felt absolutely NO discomfort while doing it or obviously I would’ve stopped.

I’m in!! My goal is 10 lbs. I’m 5 1/2 weeks post op Losing slowly so hopefully my goal isn’t too ambitious Today’s weight 268 Three words: Loyal, compassionate and determined So far I haven’t let any unhealthy snacking sneak so this will be great to keep me accountable. Yoga looks really hard for me to do but hey, I’ll give it a try!

DanaC84 replied to KMac2018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You’ve averaged between 3-4 lbs per week! I think that’s pretty awesome 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 -
I have type 2 or had even though medically they won’t say cured but in remission. I was on metformin twice a day and trulicity once a week. I stopped all when I went on my liquid pre op diet. I’m due for my A1C next month but my morning #’s are about 115 last time I tested. (Sleeved 1/21)

Congratulations!! Your insights hit a deep nerve as well. Thank you for that

Have you tried protein water? They were a life saver that week (as well as the SF popsicles!!). They did become way too sweet for me by the end of that week though.

After approval how long to complete surgery?
DanaC84 replied to dmrussell2014's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Cigna as well but you might want to check with them. The way it worked out for me is my surgeons office sent in all the paper work after my 90 day final appointment. It took them 10-15 business days to approve (I was lucky and it was closer to 10) and then my surgeons first available date for surgery was 3 weeks out. I hadnt planned on that part. I thought it’d be approval and get ‘r done! -
Hysterical!!! I agree, I wouldn’t do it either but thank God for friends that can make us laugh
