Heck girl! 5 lbs in one week?! I think I’d say whatever you’re doing now to stick with it 😂😎👍🏻
-
Not the significant amount you had but yes. I wasn’t eating as much protein as I thought by eyeballing it. Makes a huge difference in how much longer I feel full.
-
Thanks and same to you! I agree, the non scale victories are exciting too. I just measured again for the first time. And true to fashion, boobs are going first 😂
-
That is the best!! Congratulations 🎈🎉 🎊

You’re welcome! And yes, dumping is the absolute worse

That was probably exactly it. It takes awhile to learn your new stomach. I did the same thing with cream of wheat and ate it too thick. It could’ve been one bite too many and it also could’ve been from the brown sugar. I was told absolutely no sugar or anything with high fructose corn Syrup. They really didn’t want me using artificial sweeteners either, only Stevia. It will get easier! And when I was at your stage I was a harmonal mess ugly crying for absolutely no reason. Big {{{hugs}}}. It DOES get easier after the first week or so

Wow! 3 or 4 coworkers all at the same time? That will be awesome for you to support each other as you move forward. Order one thing for lunch and all split it 😂

I hear ya!! I am so ready for spring! Snow yesterday and wind chills in the single digits. I’ll do a lot to get my walk in but I won’t do that!!! 🥶

I just ordered a fitness tracker. I’ve put it off til now because my previous low amount of activity depressed me to no end. It says it has a sedentary alarm that will let you know when you’ve been sitting for too long. I’m looking forward to that extra push and accountability.

The app isn’t taking into consideration how recently you had your surgery. My surgeon gave me a protein goal of 64g per day but said there was absolutely no way I’d be able to hit that post op or maybe even weeks/a month. But he was pretty insistent on reaching for my water intake goals. And rather than saying how many ounces in a day to just try to get in 6 oz for every hour I was awake. Good luck and just keep sipping 🏆

Me and the husband advice please
DanaC84 replied to newmebithebypass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here!!! I joke that my husbands favorite meal was meat with a side of meat, while I was all about the sides. It has served me well since surgery to focus more on my protein and not as much on the sides. -
4) one happy childhood memory. I’m lucky, I have a lot of them but the first one that popped into mind was riding my horse.

Today’s question: Great find @GreenTealael ! (How do you get that to be a “link”? I use the app) It’s all about finding joy in the little things. I happened upon Jovan Skin musk ages ago. Something about it just mixes well with my body chemistry and I always get compliments.

Water on the rocks with a twist of lemon or lime. No one would know it isn’t vodka or gin 😂 -

6 MONTH COMPARISON VSG vs RNY weight loss
DanaC84 replied to New&Improved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here’s a useful tool to see how much you would lose for each procedure that would be specific to your actual height, weight and BMI https://www.bariatric-surgery-source.com/laparoscopic-gastric-bypass-surgery.html Although I didn’t see the MGB on thereThe link won’t go straight to the tool. Scan down to section 2 and you’ll see a pink button to click on for the calculator -
And I’m sad for you! I wish there was more I could say or do to make things better. But I agree with @froufrou , be your own advocate. If I wasn’t having faith in my surgeons office I’d definitely talk to my GP.

The mental struggle is real
DanaC84 replied to ummyasmin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would encourage you both to speak to your mental health professionals and ask them if they are aware of the malabsorption issues after RNY especially but the sleeve also. We just went through this same scenario with a family member and it got really bad. Luckily her Dr came across a study about this and switched her medicines to liquid and the ones that aren’t available in liquid she crushes and adds to applesauce. It has quite literally saved her life. And please, im not advising anyone to start crushing their pills because some time released meds CANNOT be crushed. I’m just not sure all drs are aware that this may be an issue and unfortunately sometimes we have to be our own advocate. im hoping you get answers and relief quickly and thank you for being brave enough to talk about this very important issue! -
Same day as mine! Welcome aboard! 👋🏻

Me and the husband advice please
DanaC84 replied to newmebithebypass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is your current plan working for you? If it is then I would assume it will work for your husband. And while I plan and prep as far as having healthy food in the house I don’t necessarily ever spend a whole day cooking. Almost anything I make has leftovers for multiple meals. Example: I make an omelette for breakfast I always make it 2 eggs and with the fillings it’s always enough for 2 days. Lunch - tuna salad and it’s lunch for 4 days Dinner tonight is chicken kabobs and roasted zucchini. Depending on how much my family eats I’m pretty sure I’ll have leftovers for dinner or lunch tomorrow. It takes some forthought and planning but nothing overwhelming. And who knows? You and your husband may find you LOVE cooking and prepping together! It actually sounds like a great time 👍🏻 -
Tried to edit that ^^^^ to say scale not moving as quickly as I’d like
-
It looks like we’re twins! My surgery was 1/21 and I’ve lost 26. Last week I started taking measurements which I wish I had done closer to surgery. I’m hoping even though the scales not moving I’m losing inches 🤷🏻♀️

DanaC84 replied to Qamar's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Not comparing to others for me is like head hunger and real hunger . In my head I know I shouldn’t do it but in my heart it’s hard not too. Wow! That was even hard to type and admit out loud -
No weight loss 11 days after bypass

All of the above and I would add, encourage her to join this site herself so we can support and love on her and let her know she’s not in this alone 👍🏻 -
