My weight loss journey
DanaC84 replied to heidiejenkins's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That’s fantastic!! We are almost surgery twins (sleeved 1/21) and you are looking great! I’m just now starting to notice in pictures and just barely. Keep up the great work! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 -
Great article! Thank you

Same as what everyone said. All I want to add is don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t start coming off in just days. I came home 12 lbs heavier and I swear that scale hardly budged for the first two weeks. You’re swollen and your body is healing. It WILL normalize in it’s own time and you will start to see some progress on the scale. If you haven’t already I’d take your measurements. Even when the scale isn’t moving the inches are coming off. You’ve got this 👍🏻

If you’re losing and being successful at that amount I’d stick with it. My nutritionist upped mine because I wasn’t losing. She thought I might be in starvation mode. But I get the scared part for sure!! I was ! But amazingly for me, it worked
-
I was keeping it at 500-700 based on a lot of the info I’ve read on here but after talking to my nutritionist we upped it to 800-1000. I’m sure it will vary from person to person. Are you losing at your current calories?

Congratulations!! Not long to wait at all! It will be here before you know it 👍🏻

6 month post-op weight loss
DanaC84 replied to NotActive1234's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations on your upcoming sleeveversary! It looks like you’ve worked out a lot of your food macros! I need to look at the whole pickles thing. I don’t do any processed. I used to suffer horribly with headaches and since my pre op diet they are gone! Hallelujah! But I do snack on pickles now and then because they kill my desire for sweets. Is it the sodium level that causes the issue I wonder? We seem on similar tracks as far as family and grandkids! Now when everyone comes over we all go for a long walk together. Oh the joy of seeing life through the eyes of a babe and the excitement of seeing a bunny or butterfly 🦋 I wish we were in London! We could get our broods together for a romping good time 😎 -
10) one thing I’m good at? Listening. Do you ever encounter people that asks how you’re doing just to get it out of the way so they can proceed to make it all about them? Yea, HATE that.

Congratulations on your upcoming date Denise! Yep, took me a long time to finally have my “aha” moment but thank God I did. Good luck and may your pre op process be smooth sailing ⛵️

Questioning the surgery...
DanaC84 replied to TxStar09's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I want to have this done to help me get started on my weight loss journey so I can be healthier for myself and my children _____________________________________ That right there is all the reason you need! Ignore the critics and do what you know to be best for you and your family. In the end that’s all that really matters. And I’m not saying one way or the other but ask yourself the hard questions. Can you do this on your own? Can you sustain it on your own? I don’t think people necessarily mean to criticize. In their own minds they might actually mean it as a compliment by saying you don’t need the surgery. I waited until I was 56. I WISH I had done this 10 years ago. Good luck with your decision and know we all have those second guessing moments wondering if we’re doing the right thing. Or at least I did. -
And totally off topic but I just got a fitness tracker. The thing I love about it the most? I can set pill reminders!! I’m always forgetting my afternoon calcium. And it has a sedentary reminder that goes off more than I’d like but I’ll get there
-
40 lbs!!! Congratulations and less pain is awesome! My hunger pains have kicked back in too but so far it’s under control. I’m a week behind you and I doubt I’ll hit your mark but I’m hoping for 30-35. You’re so right about the slow and steady.

9) get the surgery 💪🏻

You are my hero 🏆💪🏻🦸♂️

Congratulations!!! 🏆

I take chewable Biotin and L-lysine. I haven’t found the L-lysine in chewable and they’re pretty big caplets. Once I was cleared for taking pills I began breaking them in half. I take half in the morning and half at night. Having said all that I understand a lot of hair loss I s experienced at about the three month mark. I’m not quite there yet so I’m praying this all helps. These are the biotin I take

Do all sleeves or baraitric surgeries need revisions?
DanaC84 replied to Healthy_life2's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I’ve done the same thing, or double post and have no idea how 😂 -
I’ve used Lose It for years8) not getting regular sleep although it’s better now than it’s been in a long time
-
Congratulations!!! So glad everything is going well. Now just rest and take it slow

My smaller ones didn’t bother me long but the glue the surgeon put over them itched like crazy. The larger one by my belly button was sore for a few weeks and even after when I moved a certain way. Felt like a pulled muscle

Congratulations!!!
