    New here 😁

Hi and welcome aboard 👋🏻. Take your measurements. Often when the scales not moving you will see you’re losing inches . That’s not going to give you immediate relief since you’ll obviously have to wait til the next measurement drop but everything we can do to assure ourselves that it’s working. And congratulation on already being down 22 lbs!! That’s awesome!!! Start looking for other NSV’s (non scale victories). Your necklines are hanging lower, the seatbelt in the car isn’t feeling so tight or hitting you in a different place, you can bend down easier , you can walk longer or with less pain. No matter how small start recognizing them for what they are, HUGE progress to a healthier you! Good luck on your journey 👍🏻

    Buying clothe

We’re regular donaters. My grandson lives with us and grows like a weed so we’re always donating outgrown clothes. One difference is I’m thinking about taking my super comfy T-shirt’s (especially the ones from vacays) and making a quilt out of them. A big comfy reminder of my soon to be former, fat self.
  4. I’ve been using the app Lose It since 2014. Since I have so many meals and recipes that I’ve already created over the years it’s hard for me to switch. Logging is an awesome tool. I read a great line recently “If you bite it, write it”. I’m sorry you’re having these other health issues. And you’re so right ! It really is step by step. Great big {{{hugs}}} from across the pond !

    3 days post op

My surgeon prepared me that there was no way I’d be able to reach my water intake goals those first few days, maybe even week (s). When he came to see me in the hospital he said to just try to get in 6 oz every hour I was awake. He was not concerned about protein or anything else. So yep , sip, sip, sip and then you got it, sip some more. 😎. Also try baby/toddler utensils. Helped me take smaller bites. Just go real slow. It takes awhile to make friends with your new anatomy but your pouch will let you know when it’s not happy

    Just home from hospital

Frustrating and totally normal. Mine was 12 lbs and took between 10 days to 2 weeks to see it start moving. What @GreenTealael said, stay off the scale 👍🏻
  8. Not a question but a fantastic visual on WHY we don’t drink before, during or after our meals. Fast forward to about the 2:30 minute point if you don’t want to watch the whole thing https://youtu.be/xR0VM3mnsgM
  9. I’ve read so many posts recently asking if particular experience, symptoms, feelings were normal. I thought we could have an area where you can know you are not alone! I know there’s a lot of lurkers that may have questions also but don’t ask I’ll start: 1) Yes! It is totally normal to have second thoughts and feelings of anxiousness prior to surgery. It is major surgery that is going to affect the way you live for the rest of your life. I would question it if you DIDN’T experience a little of both 2) I also think it’s normal to have the feeling afterwards of “what have I done to myself ?” You are not only a hormonal mess afterwards but you’ve mostly likely just lost your source of comfort. It make takes weeks or months to come to grips with it. Or you may experience the complete opposite and have total elation!! That’s ok too ! It does get better 👍🏻 Hang in there 😎

  11. I’m so sorry you’ve had this experience. I agree with SusieQ, BIG difference between tough love and just downright rude. AFTER you get all your records and another surgeon (if that’s the route you choose) make sure to leave a google review. Save someone else the misery. Good luck 😘

    Weight-loss funnies

  18. To lose slow and/or to have stalls ?! Frustratingly , YES!! Best advice given over and over but the hardest to implement : don’t compare yourselves with others. Those starting at a higher BMI lose quicker, sex, age or hormonal stage in life all play a role and it varies greatly from person to person.  I also read when we reach a previous set point in our weight our body was previously comfy at it will try to stay there. Lots of theories out there on what you should do. But if your surgery is new and your following your surgeons plan just keep on keepin’ on. (Imho)
  19. I think it’s fairly common. Of the three people in my personal life that have had wls, including myself, have all had this happen

  21. Congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I can see it as well 👍🏻
  22. I stayed one night. As far as your babies, hold- yes. Pick up - no. I watch my grand babies and two of them are two and under. I just had to help them climb up in my lap (while getting them to avoid the tender parts) or have some one else hand them to me. Good luck! And what a great hubs for taking off work 👍🏻

    A Lotta Brachioplasty Questions

Fantastic tip about working out beforehand to build up those muscles . I’ve been doing some, but I might as well up my game now! (Have a long way to go but can never be too early to dream)
