No weight loss since surgery!
SusieQ2019 replied to Taranurse 1's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Don't feel discouraged I am a slow looser to. I am two weeks out and when I went home from the hospital I was 9lbs more than the day of surgery. Today I am down 11 lbs since surgery, 22 lbs in total when I add the weight I lost during the liver fast and 27lbs since October. I felt discouraged but my co workers are telling me that I am loosing weight although they don't know that I had surgery lol. My cloths are fitting me loose and I had to remove 2 links from my watch. We will get there. -
Can I still have my VSG if I’m on my period?
SusieQ2019 replied to Ruby Hernandez's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, I just had my VSG on the 29th April and my period came the day before. Let the nurse know so that they can give you underwear and pads. I was annoyed because it was 10 days early but it wasn't a big deal. It was funny when they asked when was my last period and my reply was NOW. lol. Good luck... -
I tried the elliptical machine yesterday, and found that my energy was not enough and once I switched to walking on the treadmill I was able to walk for 40 minutes no problem. I will be doing the treadmill only for another couple of weeks. I also try to get in a lot of water the first part of the day before I switch to pureed food. VSG 29th April 2019.

Agree with the others. If I drink to fast i get a little reminder from my baby stomach to hold my horses.

I had my sleeve exactly one week ago today and I went back to work today. It wasn't bad at all. I drank plenty of water and ate my proteins on schedule. Still a little sore when I cough or sneeze, but that is to be expected.
-
I was on pureed from the hospital. I would not have had the energy if I was on liquid for another week or 2.

Thanks guys! @ProudGrammy I will take retirement any day lol. @karenbb8 the week I was home I was mainly on my bed and couch and found I had less energy. I think the more I am up and about the more energy I get.

how has surgery impacted your hunger?
SusieQ2019 replied to Zemi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was sleeved on April 29th one week ago and my appetite is gone I feel no desire to eat but I still do to get my protein and fluid in. Yesterday I made spaghetti with ground meat and Italian sausage and I had zero craving or the urge to eat. I am on the pureed stage for one month. -
Best of luck.!!

Hey brown lady you go girl. Glad you are doing well. Like you my surgery went well. I have no gas pain and I am eating and drinking well except for a little soreness when I laugh or sneeze. I did 1/2 at the gym today and will be back at work on Monday exactly one week from my surgery. My friend who did her surgery on the 18th still have nausea and vomits at time. Wishing you many successes

Ahh hope you are doing well so far.

Baby food on pureed stage
SusieQ2019 replied to VeeAurora's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told no baby food. A simple Greek yogurt with applesauce and a scoop of isopure unsweetened protein give me 42 grams of protein. My dietitian wants at least 50 grams. That's what I eat for breakfast through lunch. Later I would have split peas soup, 4oz and 3-4 oz of ground chicken pureed in crushed tomatoes. -
You have made a good choice and congratulations on taking your life back. I was also sleeved on the 29th. So far so good walking and getting around is ok, although I feel a bit of a pain by the largest incision site. I am showering with no problem. I also washed dishes with no issue standing. Everything is to sweet, but I've been drinking premier protein shakes this morning. I've also been taking my vitamins no problems. I am full after 2 spoonfuls. I have no cravings or urge to eat, but I have to eat to build muscles.

April 2019 Surgeries!
SusieQ2019 replied to CajunSam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Our program go to pureed stage while in the hospital and this stage will last for one month. As a matter of fact they won't release you if you haven't advance to pureed stage. A friend of mine stayed 2 nights in the hospital due to nausea and she also experienced a lot of gas. I have no gas pain. I am hoping to reach all goals today or close enough which is about 50grams protein and 64oz water. -
April 2019 Surgeries!
SusieQ2019 replied to CajunSam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am up and about, trying to get my water and protein in. I am full after 2 spoonfuls of greek plain yogurt with unsweetened apple sauce and a scoop of isopure unsweetened protein powder. I am going to try to go to the gym tomorrow. I am really cold and may invest in a small space heater. I am covered up with 3 blankets. All and all pain is manageable and I am not having any gas pains. Knock on wood. My cat keep trying to lay down on my stomach smh. I am thankful for my sons 20 and 23 yr old. My 9 yr old daughter is to busy playing ROBLOX with her friends. Hope everyone is doing well. -
Hi Gaby, Water is my best friend. Everything else taste like syrup.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I am so ready because these last 2 days of this liver diet of liquid only is no joke. My Ghrelin better not be there after I wake up.lol. On the bright side I went from 260 to 243. Not bad at all. I will try to rest after I am done watching Game of Thrones.

To tell or not to tell
SusieQ2019 replied to big_ange's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having surgery tomorrow and don't see the need to tell people about my medical procedures. None of my coworkers know. I told one friend and she was not enthusiastic and she have never asked how the process is going no matter how often we talk. My two older children knows and they are very happy that I made the decision. No other family members know. I befriended one girl who had the surgery and she is super supportive. The only other person is my EX who never judged my weight and also is very supportive. -
Tell me it’s not always going to be like this!
SusieQ2019 replied to KimB7811's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sending good cheers and hope you feel better soon. You got this. -
It's quite rewarding when one exceeds their own golds or those set by others. Don't be afraid to set your own goals.
