What can you tolerate and when

I am in my sixth weeks after sleeve and my meals includes, yogurt, bean soup with vegetables, eggs and protein shakes. I had a little chicken yesterday and it felt stuck, so I am crossing off chicken for now. I stopped eating cheese because it was causing constipation and plus high in fat. It't looks like your tiny stomach is telling you what it likes for now. Continue with sipping the soups, and drink protein shakes if you can until you can tolerate other food. Don't force it. Good luck!

    Please help!

Yes I had my surgery done on April 29th and I feel amazing. I had no complications and went back to work one week after. I've lost 22lbs since surgery and 38 since I begin the process in October. Make sure you follow all of your requirements and before you know it surgery day will arrive. My advice to you is never measure your weight loss sucess or journey with those of others.

    Pre Surgery Jitters

Congratulations on your journey as it seems you are already off to a good start. Don't worry about making your journey public as many of us here have chosen to keep our decision personal. Like you I don't eat cottage cheese or seafood but I find yogurt and different types of bean soups work for me. Don't stack up on to many food because your taste and craving will change after the surgery. Many also depend on protein shakes and powder as a good source of protein post-op. Wishing you the best on your journey!
  4. I knew I had surgery because my body told me so. I was sore, tired and drinking was a difficult task. To avoid injury, please follow your surgeons post op instructions. Wishing you the best!!

    Please help!

Have you tried calling the insurance company to see what the process is and what the estimated cost will be. You can get the procedure code from the surgeons office. If you normally pay a co-payment when you visit the doctor most likely they will apply, and if you need to reach a deductible the insurance company will be able to provide you with that information. When I went to my first appointment, my surgeon's office gave me a list of all the requirement needed by my insurance. Good luck with your journey.

    Multivitamins

I was approved for capsule after one month, but as Naiad say to check with your surgeon. I don't like the chewables. Surgery date 4/29/19.
  8. I am breaking out as well with acne, by my chin, forehead, cheeks, eyebrows, pretty much all over my face and they hurt to the touch. I thought that I was allergic to the bariatric vitamins but my dietitian said that my hormones are out of wack due to the surgery.
  9. Hang in there, it will get better. Try not to lift anything heavy or over do it.

    New Here

@Aubrieann congratulations on your journey to a new healthier you. My advise is to start making healthier food choices. I cut out all unhealthy snacks, chips, Cheetos, sweet, coffee etc. well in advance before my surgery. Also there are lots of helpful information on this forum. Wishing you good luck.

    Maryland Newbie

Welcome, and don't feel bad about the relationship not working out. I see it as his own insecurities and not yours. Men are going to like you for who you are and the qualities you bring to a relationship and if they don't that's there lost. Take your time and the right person will come along.

    Denied!

Interesting, I am surprised that the rep did not explained to you whether or not your plan included bariatric surgery. I hope you find a way to have the surgery done, especially with the preparations you have done so far. I would be angry. Hoping for a happy ending for you.
  20. Did you expressed your feelings to him. It looks like his heart was in the right place. I don't have a Walmart in my area but from what I've seen online they have beautiful dresses. Sometimes in life we have to embrace the present. Unfortunately we cannot go back in the past or live in the shadows of our skinny past. You will have your surgery and loose a lot of weight, but in the mean time we have to live for today.

    Denied!

I agree with Grady, if it is not part of your insurance plan I don't see how the appeal will be successful. I have Aetna and the first thing I did was to check with them to make sure my surgery will be covered and my surgeon was in my network. You can also check with the company you work for to see they can add this type of service to the plan they offer. Good luck to you.

    Sleep Test

The insurance company sets the requirements which the surgeon adheres to. But you can always check with your insurance company.

7 Days Post Op - Ate Cottage Cheese

She said I can eat soft fish(not salmon). Unfortunately I do not eat any type of seafood.
  24. My insurance covers 90 days after surgery no co-pay. My first was 2 weeks then I will go two more times then 6 months and one year. I don't remember the time frame thereafter. I will see my PCP in September. My surgery date was 4/29/19.

7 Days Post Op - Ate Cottage Cheese

I am one month post-op and I understand completely, it's hard in the early stage when you only have 2 food choices. I am so tired of pureed bean soup that I e-mailed my dietitian to ask her if I can eat turkey chili or beef chili she flatly denied me but suggested to make bean chili. She said my stomach wasn't ready for meat. Hang in there you can do it.
