Gastric Sleeve Surgery 5/7/19
SusieQ2019 replied to Bridgetcpht1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
HI and congratulations on your journey so far. My surgery is April 29th and I am super excited. Today I signed all of my consent forms. During this stage so I've eliminated sweets, coffee and chips. I have also been drinking premier protein shakes and have my pre-op class on April 3rd. I believe there is a thread for May surgeries that was started. Check it out to see if you have any surgery buddies there. Wishing you the best in your journey. -

Feeling like there’s no hope for me...(LONG)

Showing tough love and rude are two different things. I wouldn't want my surgeon to sugar coat anything for me but in the meantime I want my surgeon to treat me with respect and kindness. You've had a couple of rough years and you deserve the best care possible. I say find a surgeon that you are happy and comfortable with. Wishing you the best of luck. -
It is part of the clearance process done by my hospital. My nurse told me that not all surgeons or hospital does it.

I am glad that your mind was set at ease. Wishing you the best.

Extreme Indigestion 1 year on
SusieQ2019 replied to MyBo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your symptoms are also similar to gal bladder issues. I experience some of the same symptoms and found out that I had gal stones. I eventually had my gal bladder removed 8 yrs ago. Good luck with your doctors appointment. -
Ahh I am so sorry to hear, hang in there. Mine went away after the first treatment.

I don't know if my sisters will be judgmental because my oldest sister and her friend had the bypass in the 90's. I just know my mom will tell every Person she knows. Love her to death but she talks to much, she lives in the islands and I don't want my business on the street. Ironically I told my ex boyfriend and he was very supportive, we have a great relationship due to our daughter and he has been around with all of my weight struggles so he understands. On the other hand If I were to tell my current Beau I already know what he is going to say "Susie why you need to cut your stomach out, you can loose the weight on your own, all you have to do is stop eating X, Y AND Z".

My surgery is on April 29th, and there are things that I've already cut out of my life, sweets, coke zero, coffee etc. One thing I promise myself is to never compare my goals and accomplishments to others. We have to be honest with ourselves and understand that weigh-loss surgery is a tool and not a miracle.

Oh wow, you are more than ready. The only thing I've purchased so far is a box of premier protein shake and box of of bone broth soup. I will do a bigger shopping after my pre op class with the nutritionist. I like the water bottle with the time time and ounces. -
Hey Kristin, if you want something that will make you sweat without spending to much try Albolene makeup remove this really works. You can apply it on your entire body it does exactly what sweet sweat does without the smell. You can also apply it to your tummy then wrap your tummy with saran wrap. I've been using it for years.

I agree with Grady, Age, genetics how fast you loose the weight will play a role. I like bodyshaper as they hold things. Exercise and weight training and lots of protein will help some what but the best treatment for excess skin is plastic surgery.

No wine/alcohol for one year?
SusieQ2019 replied to shanshan's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I also drink on special occasion just the fruity drinks since I never found alchohol to be appealing to my taste. My nutritionist told me that I can drink a little alchohol during the appropriate stage after surgery, however that I must be mindful since alchohol offers no nutritional value. -
I agree WLS is a roller coaster especially when making the decision to actually have the surgery. Getting to the point of accepting that weight loss surgery is not something to be ashamed of but the celebration of a tool that will enable us to have a longer and healthier life. No shame in looking out for ourselves first. I also have a very judgmental family the reason I haven't told not one member( except for my children who super supportive). If i don't put myself first no one will.
