February 2019 weight loss buds
Everything replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I think I’m looking well, just feel like my nutrition is off. A friend added me to some vegan Facebook pages and suggested juicing. I’m playing around to find what works best for me. Recent pics attached, taken in 2020! -

This is funny. I bought these cover ups with my girlfriends - the shirts that make you look like you’re wearing a bikini. I went with this one which is more sexy than the ones that they bought. It matches my body almost perfectly. Posted it on social media and ppl were freaking out! When I walked out in it my family didn’t even realize it was a shirt at first! -

Myself... I’m doing OK at best. Just OK. Still dealing with tremendous restriction which I feel is amplified by my pain meds acting as an appetite suppressant. I eat better at night and my husband has a MMJ card so I use that to stimulate my appetite from time to time. Still suffering with lots of back, neck pain and headaches. I’m always low on fluids and do find it hard to drink water. I’ve had UTIs basically back to back for months. I’m skinny! REALLY skinny. And I don’t want to lose more. I have this weird mental thing going on where I struggle to eat as much when I’m in the presence of other people (acquaintances). I eat comfortably with family and close friends. When I dine out, I order things that will reheat well and it usually takes me a few passes to finish. Overall I’m just kind of anxious. I’m getting approved for a procedure for my neck pain and I’m hopeful that this will help me wean off pain meds. I want to exercise but I keep telling myself not to burn those precious calories. Still trying to find appetizing nutritional foods that I can readily eat. I weigh 98 or 99 now. Yesterday I only ate one biscuit (well 3/4 of it) and I was on my feet for hours. I look good; everyone says so, but I don’t feel healthy. I will just keep at it! I’m in a double zero clothing size and I’m about to have to start shopping in kids if I get much thinner.... I will need a tummy tuck and I’d love to do that now but I’m just too busy. My life is very very active and stressful and my goal for now is to take better care of myself mentally first and go from there. -

I am in the same boat. I am under 100 pounds now. I just can’t eat very large quantities and I really don’t think about food at all. I have to find something really tempting to make me even want to eat. So when I eat I try to eat high calorie items. I actually like ahi tuna and vegetables and things like that. So I try to get as much healthy stuff in but also get the calories as well. -

Guys this is the first year of my life I’m not making a New Year’s resolution to lose weight! Woo hoo!!!! -
I am meeting a lot of new people nowadays. No one can tell I was ever big enough to qualify for bariatric surgery. I was working with a sales rep on Wednesday and we are discussing bariatric furniture for a doctors office. He informed me that I should not use the term “bariatric” and that Overweight people prefer to be called “people of size”. Never heard that one. Have you? Of course he has no idea I was a “person of size” myself.

It was both (if I’m understanding you correctly). Same conversation.

Hey Sheri- you GAINED weight? This has been a very different process for me. I am getting a little worried. I am 6 pounds away from being underweight. I wanted to be 100 pounds but once I got down to like 107 I was good and wanted it to stop. I eat anything I want. I have eaten so much candy in the last two weeks and I don’t even normally like sweets. I drink wine. I eat bacon, pizza, mashed potatoes, anything I want. I’m not bragging.... I am so restricted and most of the time I don’t have an appetite. I seem to be able to eat soup pretty good. I did get a whole cup of soup down at Chili’s on Friday....! Did you just stop eating healthy and gain this weight? Or has your restriction lessened? -

Also that’s why I posted this on here. I was trying to calibrate my response. I thought I would see what you guys thought about it before I reacted.

No I was in a clients office and within earshot of a customer. I didn’t say a word. After we left there I googled fat farm just to be sure I understood what he was talking about. I thought he met a bariatric surgery office but I guess he meant a camp. Regardless it was disgusting. I have not said anything yet.

This is an odd one but I am coming to the realization that this was a non-scale victory. New people I meet do not realize that I was ever over weight. Case in point I recently had a job interview with a recruiter. I mentioned that I had never had a face-to-face interview with a recruiter before and then I typically only did phone interviews with recruiters. She stated that she met all of the candidates first, to vet them. She told me how important appearance is and Then went on to tell me a short story about how she had recently scheduled a pre-screening interview at a restaurant. When she arrived at the restaurant the candidate was already seated. She said she ordered a nice salad, while he ordered a huge expensive steak dinner with sides, and consumed the meal entirely and rapidly. She said she was so relieved that she met and prescreened this candidate because her client would never have excepted an overweight person. Needless to say I was a bit taken aback and never told her that I myself had had weight-loss surgery. I was offended by it but let it go. I had another incident similar to this happened to me this week. So why is this a non-scale victory? Well, apparently I now look so fantastic that no one would ever know that I was overweight. I have never heard of these kind of comments in my life. I guess I have reached a new status where is people think They can share this information with me and it is in a safe space. So I guess I’ll take that as a positive?

Wait, I think that’s a NSV!

The guy who said this also told me that he’d recently sold furniture to a “fat farm”... he had NO IDEA that I’d had the surgery. It was one of those moments where I was deciding if I should drop the bomb or not.

Boomer Sooner?! My mom would have loved you!

Precisely why I shop Walmart, Marshall’s, consignment and Ross! As long as your clothes are neat, clean and fit well, you can pull off something really great!

Just wanted to say hello to everybody and wish you guys happy holidays. As we have all begun to heal and reach our goals I know we are spending less and less time on here. We are just a bunch of skinny Texans!

That’s right! I think I may have talk to you about that before. I lived off of Louetta on the other side of 290 - Klein. Yes turtleneck is from Walmart too. They have some jeans they keep folded up that are only seven dollars a pair but I sprung for these for like 14 bucks. I’m sure the turtle neck was around $12 or less.

I’ll tell you guys Walmart has been a godsend to me during this weight loss. Everything I own is currently from Walmart. Although I did find some really really great deals from lord and Taylor last week during cyber Monday. But otherwise people come up to me and ask me where got my clothes and I’m always like Walmart baby! Head to toe. Even got these cute earrings there. I did get the boots at Zulily (I’ve had them a few years).

Good idea because I actually went to White House Black market recently and bought a couple of things. The whole store was 30% off that day so I got this cute athleisure kind of top. It’s a tank top with a cropped turtleneck like thing that goes over it. It is absolutely gorgeous. Anyway, my plan was to take good care of it but somehow it ended up In our regular laundry. It got washed one time. One time! It looks like I’ve had it for 10 years. This damn top was like almost $80 regular price. I was trying to treat myself for losing weight. I’m more of a target, Walmart shopper. Was not happy with the way it came out of the laundry. It is still cute and I did get a beautiful white turtleneck that I wear regularly. I have been washing that on gentle and it is holding up much better. Is clothes Mentor online?

I’m with you. First of all I am more attracted to eat healthy foods as opposed to non-healthy food but I eat whatever I want because my quantities are still so small. I haven’t weighed recently but I was it 100.6 last time I checked. I had targeted 100 pounds is my goal and never thought I would get there. We had a pretty good Thanksgiving. I screwed up some of the cooking but it was a good time and just our family of five. I look at regular portions and I always think - how the hell are they going to eat all that?! Portions look enormous to me now. I still have trouble ordering in a restaurant because if I order a regular entrée I just feel selfish. I don’t always just want a side item. I can’t even finish a cup of soup!
