I have the same vitamins and they make me violently dry heave the second they hit my stomach. I did not Consult with my surgeon about this but ended up switching to patches and Flintstones vitamins just to cover my bases. The calcium doesn’t bother me at all.

Hi Paula! Today is 6 weeks, one day for me. Your weight loss sounds steady. From my day of surgery (2/20) I have only lost 19 pounds. I started at a low BMI and am happy with my results, thus far. I don’t track my weight by week but thinking I’m losing pretty close to 2 lbs a week... I’m targeting June as when I am expecting to really see a substantial visible difference in my appearance. -

Oh wait... you know what? I had 2 cocktails last night. Family came in from ATL and we went to a happy hour. I sipped super super slowly and did not get intoxicated. However, wondering if this is related to dehydration/alcohol/weight loss of 1.6 pounds overnight. I'll observe and report! -

It is interesting about clothes; I have a plethora of small clothes to wear because I have been moving them around with me for years. I have moved them literally 6 times from Florida, to Texas (several addresses) to Arizona, back to Florida. Never giving up hope I'd get back to my 2011 weight (healthy weight), all the while taking diet pills and never getting close. I'm almost bummed a little that I don't have a bunch of big clothes to send to Goodwill! But the good news is that I don't have to buy a bunch of clothes in various sizes as I lose the weight. I was basically living in PJs and whatever stretchy pants I could find when I was at my highest weight. Daily uniform was a huge shirt and leggings. It is exciting to be able to wear new things. In other news, lost 1.6 pounds overnight last night! Thinking that may have had something to do with my "lady days" ending (sorry guys). Anyway, I'm at a new mini-goal so I'm happy about that! Yesterday, TWO different people told me I "look great" so that was amazing feedback. One knew I had surgery and one did not, but neither had seen me in a while, or since surgery. Loving the positive feedback! -

2 meals a day - maybe I should try. My problem is snacking. I have 2 modes to choose from : 1. Hunger/light, constant Snacking or 2. “Meal”/overstuffed/misery. Why can’t I get this right?!?! -

My next goal is -5.8 pounds. That will get me into a weight range that I haven’t seen in many many years. I can do this! I may go to Vegas on 4/23. Got hired for a new job yesterday and we are working out the details. I think I can lost 7-10 pounds by then, right?!? In 20 days... -

I get on here and read when I’m beating myself up. After gloating about my bad eating habits and lack of exercise no one to blame but myself. 31 pounds post surgery sounds like progress! I’m recalibrated and back on plan as of this morning! I only lost a pound in the last week - 5 weeks post op. Maybe that was my stall week. -

I had the same thoughts and posted something similar prior to my 2/20 sleeve. I actually had “smooth sailing” myself - no problems with surgery! -

I am also a 2/20 surgery! I have lost less than 20 since surgery but I feel good so far. That is a great start! -

Please please please go somewhere and start the process over. Do not take those pills. I got addicted to them and took them for 20 years. Please just go somewhere else!!! -
I miss AZ this time of year! I lived in Mesa/Tempe. I miss the hiking too now that I actually want to get out and exercise!

I just saw your comment right after I Posted almost the exact same thing. Do you think this is dehydration related because I was following your posts and you seem to be right on top of the program and getting lots of fluid. -

I have done both the popcorn and two glasses of wine thing with the same results: weight loss. I do think it is dehydration. No sooner then I posted this long post about how fantastic I feel yesterday I started having major muscle cramping. Again I’m assuming this is all dehydration related so I am trying to force fluids today. I can barely walk right now. Wednesday I had to carry a lot of samples back-and-forth from my car to a clients office. It was the first time I had lifted anything in a few weeks and I had to make probably 10 trips back-and-forth from my car to their conference room. My legs were so sore! I ate half a banana this morning hoping for potassium and now I am sitting drinking drinking drinking. I guess this is all a work in progress to we get to our goal. -
Nights spent in the hospital after sleeve surgery?
Everything replied to killerqueen86's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stayed two nights and like you, my surgeon was three hours away. (I also have twins by the way but they are teenagers). Anyway so I drove myself down to the surgery and stayed the two nights. Then my husband came and picked me up when they released me and drove me home. I left my car sitting at the hospital for two weeks! It was kind of inconvenient but that was how we had to do it. -

So a question... (with some background first): I think I’m probably the worst post op surgery patient on this forum. I don’t get my adequate water, I don’t take vitamins (I use patches), I have skipped about 20 calcium supplements at minimum, I have been eating basically anything I want for almost 2 full weeks now. Oh and let’s not forget I get no exercise. That said, I feel better than I have in ages. I am consistently losing about a half a pound a day, give or take. I am moderately active in my regular life just with the day-to-day chores, going on sales calls, etc. Concurrent with this surgery I have been getting epidurals in my back which have alleviated most of my pain. So I feel pain-free and I feel like I look much better. My energy level has returned and I basically feel normal again - just improved. I am thrilled at how I feel these days. I actually have a very positive attitude as where last year I would say I was almost clinically depressed. I just feel joy now. I am excited to be social again. Last year almost stayed home hundred percent of the time hiding away from the world. A lot of it does have to do with NOT having that back pain but I just feel positive and optimistic and empowered now. I know my WL surgeon would probably kill me if he knew that I have had alcohol or bacon but it is in such moderation... Come to find out I don’t need a double bottle of wine or 3/4 a package of bacon to make me happy. One glass of wine and one strip of bacon brings me all the joy I need!!! Do you think I am teetering on that slippery slope or is my attitude about this healthy? -
Oh my gosh! That is almost the exact same goal I have. I have been waiting for years to buy a Hermès belt. I have wanting one for so long and just refused to buy some big large size because frankly I didn’t want to draw attention to my midsection anyway. But when I get to my goal weight or close to it I will be buying one!

I am 5 weeks, 1day and can eat anything I want as well, but micro portions. I ate two pieces of well done bacon this morning which is top capacity though (I feel stuffed). I can handle carbonated drinks, but small quantities. Even though I am eating things like fried shrimp and bacon I’m just eating such small quantities I have been consistently losing. I just can’t seem to get more than a 2 shrimp quantity down! On the disclosure part of this conversation, I told everyone. I work on contract is an independent sales rep so I don’t have coworkers but I told friends, family, my neighbors, random people… I was excited about it and proud I did it. That’s just my personality though. I am pretty much an open book. And I’m a terrible liar so I didn’t want to have to worry about that! I have only lost a little under 25 pounds so no one has really made a lot of comments about my weight loss. When that time comes I will have to see how the conversation plays out.... Sorry you guys were having a bad day but today’s a new one! Hope things go better the rest of your week! -
I had to call around but I found numerous surgeons that would do the procedure at 30. Others had to cut off’s at 32. Sometimes the receptionist will say no but if you asked to speak to a nurse or doctor they will come back with a yes.

My kiddos call it criss cross applesauce! Yesterday a woman asked me if I was pregnant because I was struggling to cross my legs at a restaurant under the table. It had nothing to do with my weight; the table was in my way. Funny that I’ve lost weight and now people are asking me if I’m pregnant. Haha! You know what? I am almost ready for “the change” so I will take that as a complement. I still look young enough to have a baby I guess!
