I am seeing the same thing with my face. I have been a Botox user for almost 15 years but I am not very good about keeping it up and just have done it off and on. I have not had it in quite a while and with the weight-loss I just look like I have aged. At this point I’m thinking I’ll wait till I lose more weight and then speak to a surgeon to see if a facelift is something I may pursue. There are other issues I need to take care of first so that would be highly unlikely that I would pursue a facelift but I’m just kind of curious to hear what they would tell me in a consultation. -

Sounds like a nightmare goody. I had my gallbladder removed two years ago this me the day after my birthday. It was an emergency surgery so gallstones are definitely worth being aware of but I don’t know that I would take medicine that made me sick. You are a trooper. -

I ate some mashed potatoes and gravy yesterday, a little green bean casserole (like 6 tbs of each, 3 per meal - over the span of lunch and dinner) - gained like 2.5 pounds!! WTH?? I can't cheat at all... what gives! -

Sheribear - this is well put - I wish someone had said this to me so plainly. I have to get on the ball before it's too late... if it's not already. When does the "honeymoon" actually end? Will we ever be able to eat larger portions? I hear yes, and I assume that varies person to person. Just wondering if they told you... -

This was lunch yesterday- crunchy broccoli salad. I did not add protein because I was not really even hungry when I ordered it. It was nice just having some fresh veggies and I ate a surprising amount of it. -

Lots going on in my life so I am not checking in frequently but read the comments and got caught up to see how everyone has been doing. Sounds like everybody is still losing between one and 3 pounds a week. I am closer to the 1 pound club. I did have to purchase a new swimsuit bottom which I did yesterday at Walmart. My old swimsuits were so stretched out that when I put them on they were gabbing and bagging everywhere and I felt exposed! I procured myself a fantastic black bikini bottom from good old Walmart to go with my tankini tops. I purchased it in a MEDIUM and waited till I got home to try it on. A little snug but no gapping at all of course and will work fine with my existing tankini tops. I have not worn a medium in years and I would’ve never reached for it before. Yeah yeah so there’s fat rolling over the top of it but I got the dang thing on. Success!!!!! My Vegas trip was canceled and I would not have hit my goal weight by then but I am just trucking along losing my 1 pound a week. -

I still can’t believe that another person in this group, has surgery the same day I did, same hospital, with the other dr in a 2 dr practice. We were probably one room away walking the halls and then... we are on this same forum? How random is that? -

Wow! So you probably saw me shuffling the halls of Riverside Surgical Feb 20-22. That’s crazy! Very very very small world!! I haven’t been back for a follow up and they are not happy with me but I live in Jax and it’s so hard with 4 kids and the constant drama I’m dealing with.... -

So Frou Frou I didn't realize your surgery was Feb 5th - I'm really surprised you are still getting sick. You must still be healing. Do you think your portion was too big yesterday?? It is so hit or miss when I get sick and I can't throw up, so I have to sit there hella nauseated for hours. Not a fan of that! -

I don't know if my walks qualify as "exercise" - I mean I'm not weight training, doing major cardio, etc. I'm just trying to move. It helps with my stress, back pain and hopefully I'm burning a few cals as well! I eat protein in the morning (usually an egg but today I had turkey sausage). I'm not tracking calories, and I feel pretty "normal". I have found that when I'm eating with people who don't know I had surgery that I tend to eat MORE and eat FAST. I'm trying to hide that I'm not eating much. The other day a waitress said "honey you didn't eat at all!" when she picked up my plate. I had only ordered a side order and could barely make a dent. Those situations are embarassing and I don't want to have to explain myself every time I eat! -

Stress IS awful - and I'm always so surprised when I read that people get turned down for surgery for being a "stress eater". There must be more to their stories as well... But anyway, I'm back on track now and so happy to be able to connect with a supportive group of people like yourselves to share this journey with! Oh hey SLD - I see you are from AZ? We moved to FL from Mesa/Tempe. My weight loss is SLOOOWWWW. Maybe 1-2 pounds a week (but I'm not really tracking it). It is coming off though. I walk every day (short walks, slow pace), but I have been going EVERY DAY -

I gained 30+ pounds in 2018; 1. because I stopped taking diet pills after 20 years of taking them off and on, 2. I was in an accident and sustained a pretty bad back injury and mild head injury - couldn't walk at first so exercise was limited; 3. My mom got critically ill with ovarian cancer, I was her caretaker - she died in December; and if you want to add more stress - 4. My husband and I were both unemployed for about 5 months last year, after moving to Florida for his new job (which didn't work out because the project he was relocated for got put on hold and they no longer could afford to keep him). So - by the time all of that was said and done, I was already 25 pounds heavier. I decided for my back pain, depression and general health I wanted to explore this surgery. So I did gain about 5 pounds just to hit the BMI mark because I knew once I stopped those diet pills my weight gain was really just starting. I did have to be self-pay, but overall I'm sooooooo much better now than I was a year ago in pretty much every aspect. I start a new job this month (well, my old company is hiring me back - very generous), which I'm so happy about having quit my job last year to care for my Mom. There is so much more to this whole background/story, but anyway, sometimes you have to do what you have to do! I know now I made the right decision. We are also buying a new house so I'm out house shopping pretty much all day these days after being renters for almost a decade. Things are good in my life, no complaints. Sounds like you made the right decision too... So happy your sleep apnea has improved! On another note - I love salads and have no problems with lettuce. Spicy food seems to be a problem for me. -

OK so I didn’t die. But I did have to take anti-nausea medication and now I have a headache. I tore off most of the tortilla and ate was probably equivalent to one chicken strip size piece of chicken with some lettuce. It’s been like this a lot for me lately. -

Good Morning everyone! Congrats to all you We are surgery twins 2/20/19 but I've only lost about 19 pounds. I'm losing very slowly and admittedly, I'm jealous of other's progress, and now you are on my list too! But I started at a lower BMI so I knew that could happen. I need to incorporate exercise; I think that would help a lot. Thanks for sharing your progress! -

Yes! That is exactly what I was saying above. I lost 1.6 pounds overnight at the end of my period. Also my periods have changed since the surgery. I have had 2. This last one was really really long and crazy. -
Can anyone post a sample of diet

I am the poster child for doing everything wrong. Today I have two strips of bacon, 1/2 bag beef jerky, and a piece of Swiss cheese. I’ve had about 30 g of protein (per the packages). I’m like you - I’m just focusing on trying to get protein down. But the comments on this post were very helpful. Thank you for sharing!
