Let me tell you what happened to me. My "best" friend is 5'3'' and weighs 110 pounds soaking wet. And I noticed that right after my surgery(1/30.08), she was starting to withdraw from me a little, but I kinda let it go. Finally, last week, I confronted her and asked her what was wrong and to my shock, she told me that she had always really seen me as the fat person, and now that I'm losing she doesn't really know me anymore . Then, to make matters worse, she said that she felt like being with me when I was (and still am, for a while, anyway) fat makes her feel better about herself and I got the strong impression that that's why she kept me around. She told me this to my face. We have been friends for 10 years. I am hurt by this. I know part of me should tell her to shove it, but I am still a little bewildered. I'm also MAD. I havent spoken to her since this conversation, though she has called several times....WHAT SHOULD I DO??

I had a bout of the stomach flu last month and it was horrid. I can't throw up. I can heave my brains out, but like you, nothing actually comes up. I know it really sucks when you are so sick. Definitely call your doctor and see if he can't give you something.

Miralax is amazing. I have used it several times and it has worked like a charm.

I find that I can't do pasta much. It is bread, and it tends to swell up and expand, therefore not going thru my band easy. Plus, it is loaded with carbs.

Yeah, I definitely will not be eating the SB meals in my freezer now. That is gross. I agree with Aveamora, get an attorney, show him the pictures and see what he says. ICK!!! -

Is Overeaters Anonymous Open to Surgery?
princessash2781 replied to devotion's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That's a good question. I mean, this takes a TON of will power, and you have surgery on your stomach, not your brain. I have also heard other people here say they attend OA, so it is definitely something to check into. I had thought about finding meetings near me, too, because as I said, this surgery is a tool, not a quick fix. If you find out anything let us know! -

Hi, Dr. Speigel's Office!!:)

I agree, I am curious as well. If a Doc acted inappropriately, others need to know about it to aviod making the same mistake. -

My friend is losing her mind! HELP!
princessash2781 replied to princessash2781's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK. I got home from work today and she was sitting on my fromt porch(she lives 2 blocks away). She wanted to talk, and I explained to her how hurt I am feeling, and she apologized. I still get the feeling that she just doesnt get it, and honestly things between us will never be the same. She kept saying "I don't know what to say except I'm sorry". So we really didin't get much of anywhere and I'm frustrated. At least I got to tell her how I feel, and that made me feel a little better. I appreciate all of the advice and support A LOT..... Congrats, Jodi!! Where in VA are you? Who is your surgeon? I live in Charlottesville and was banded on 1/30 in Richmond by Dr. Matthew Brengman! Congrats again! Ashlee:thumbup:

Thanks everyone. I have not talked to her yet, I think I still need a bit to mull things over. I am glad she was honest, but it still hurts, and I am angry...I just haven't decided what to do. Thanks for listening, I appreciate it! Ash -

What are you doing with all your clothes?
princessash2781 replied to NotABuckOFive's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Someone gave me good advice on what to do with clothes. As you go down in sizes, give all the big clothes away. That way if you start to slip and gain, you will have to actually buy more clothes, and I don't know about you, it usually motivates me to do better if I feel my pants gettin' tight. It's a lot harder to go out and buy new fat clothes than it is to go to the back of your closet and dig 'em out, so definitely get rid of them (I think this is a good way of holding myself accountable). All of mine go to goodwill because all my friends are skinny minnies, they appreciate all donations. -
For some reason, I can't drink AT ALL. I had a margarita last week and I got so nauseated and actually threw up. It was awful. This never happened before. Anyone had similar experience? Ashh

Anyone have the Realize band?
princessash2781 replied to 2BtinyinTN's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey 2btiny! Got filled yesterday, it was a breeze!! Have 7.5 cc in a 10 cc band and it is pretty tight, which I want. I've been doing liquids and mushies so I'm anxious to see how solids go.... How are you feeling?? -

Hey JLynn. I am feeling unrestricted too. I am getting filled tomorrow under fluoro, and I am nervous. I have no pain, but I am nervous because I feel like I can eat A LOT. Not as much as before, but more than I think I should be eating...... -

Anyone Else Fight This Feeling ?
princessash2781 replied to happytobebanded's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so glad I came across this thread! I am relieved that I am not the only one struggling with "head hunger" (and STILL struggling some, 4 months later). I get filled Friday, I hope to be nice and full. KEYWESTGIRL, I went thru a period of mourning, too. It is hard, I feel you on that, but keep pluggin' away at it. It does get easier I think. -
