I haven't necessarily had weight gain, but I fear it is going to happen for me. I feel like I eat too much, I'm not really losing anymore. My cravings are horrible, and I have no will power. I feel so helpless...
-
I will always recommend the Genepro brand of protein - it's flavorless, and I literally don't even notice it when I add it in with my Crystal Light. Super easy way to get in that protein!

Nights spent in the hospital after sleeve surgery?
anl1990 replied to killerqueen86's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It truly depends on the person. I was told it could potentially be a 2 night stay, but I ended up only staying 1 night, which I believe is what is most common. -
4wks post. Have not lost in 2 weeks
anl1990 replied to skinny4kids's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It definitely happened to me, don't worry - this is normal. Don't get discouraged, and just focus on your fluid and protein intake! -
Congrats, how exciting!! Best of luck with everything, you've got this!!

#1 - I did it because I needed the extra push. I needed the extra help with controlling myself, and it certainly does what it is supposed to. HOWEVER. I struggle hard mentally, because my brain still talks me into eating the way I used to, and makes me push my boundaries. It honestly makes me feel like such a failure... #2 - YES. I would be lying if I said I didn't want to quit, or have regrets most days. But having the NSV, and seeing the numbers go down on the scale, it helps. Best of luck on your journey, I have faith you will succeed.

Congrats, keep up the amazing work! I personally have been stuck here lately, but I am hoping with working in the gym more that will help get the scale moving down again. Super proud of you! -
I mix in Genepro and Crystal Light with my water, and I cannot even taste the protein. I would high recommend the Genepro, it is amazing!

Yesterday I bought pants in a size I cannot remember wearing since high school. To say I was excited would be an understatement. It still feels surreal.

The scale is finally moving again

This is great, I am so happy for you! I don't know if this is normal, but I have hit a few plateaus since I had my surgery. Right now I am dealing with one, but I have been working hard with going back to the gym, so I hope that helps it start moving again. Keep up the amazing work!! -
That is amazing, keep up the incredible work!!

HI there, welcome! I had mine on 12/12, and so far so good. I am glad yours seems to have went well! Best of luck on your journey! (:

I had my surgery 12/12/18, and (as of now) I have not had any real complications. Everything has actually went quite well. The only issue I've really had is the incision where they removed my stomach was a little stubborn, and took quite a while to finally quit scabbing. Compared to what others have endured, however, I would consider that very minor. Minimal pain, and it has been quite easy bringing foods back into my diet. Certain foods are still not agreeing with me the best, but again - I would consider that both common and pretty minor. I see you would have had your surgery yesterday - I hope everything went well! Best of luck in your journey!

I believe it truly depends on the person. Genetics play a big part in it - some people have more elastic skin than others. I believe incorporating toning exercises can help prevent loose skin, but it is of course not a guarantee. I would speak to your doctor if it becomes a big enough concern, I know some will do the skin surgery for you as well. Best of luck. (:

Preparing for 2 week liquid diet😬
anl1990 replied to jenifaoh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is hard, but it does eventually get easier. Broth and sugar free popsicles were a lifesaver. -
I am not sure as far as fungus and whatnot goes, but as far as rash/chaffing goes, I have used deodorant and it works wonders. Hope it helps you!

Don't be so hard on yourself - that is still a great number! I am right around that, and I had my surgery about a week before you. So many different factors go into it, just focus on yourself. 26 lbs is amazing, keep up the great work!!

I eat nuts just fine. Chew chew chew, and take is slow. So far so good for me.

Was there a pivotal moment that made you say I’m doing this?
anl1990 replied to Imnotpicky's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think for me it was the annual tubing trip I went on this past summer. I couldn't really have fun because I felt so self conscious, and I am just tired of that. I am ready to be able to (at least somewhat) embrace my figure, and not feel so disgusting. -
Phentermine works amazingly! I was put on it during my pre-op period, and it definitely does what it says it is going to do. As far as the depression goes, I already struggle with it, so I cannot really say if it was actually impacted by the medicine, because I see others have had issues with it. BUT. My experience was quite positive, and I would recommend giving it a try.
