  1. Hello everyone, I keep getting emails about the 3 meals a day no Snacks etc. I didn't post any question about that. A lady named Bea did and I responded to her. Please address your answers to her. Thanks, Helen

No, I don't live anymore near you. What I did was go on the internet and look up weight loss surgery and then refined the search. I am sure you will find a doctor - only thing you should do extra is find out if they have a web site, look at all the particulars about the doctor - how long, how many etc. and then call the office - the office I called couldn't have been nicer and were prompt in returning my call which of course, gave them some bonus points from me. Good luck, Helen

  4. Your calorie intact is terrifically low, which slows down your metabolism even more. I eat about 1200 calories a day. But I am not trying to take off a ton of weight too soon, as they always presents another set of problems. However, having said all this - your weight and health may be much different than mine and your doctor is the only one who really should advise you. Hopefully, he suggested good Vitamins and Calcium etc. Good luck to you, Helen

    Moving right along

Hi, I hope all goes well for you. When I had that problem, I was diagnosed with Hplyori - after they did a blood test. My regime of antibiotics was the same as yours and it did clear up so hopefully your problem will also in the same two week time frame. Helen
  6. I'm neither, but any good PS' office will give you the details - I think it's about the same for anyone who works. My daughter had a TT and it was horribly painful - she cursed the day she did it, UNTIL she was better and it has been years now and she still looks fantastic. She was not heavy, she just had 4 babies! I had liposuction only - don't understand why Doc did it since I was heavy, but for me that was so painful, I am too chicken to think about a TT just yet, if ever. Best, Helen
  7. Hi, I am five weeks post op and have absolutely no problems with salad or veggies. I also eat strawberries, tangerines and bananas. Of course, the secret is chew, chew, chew. As with all foods, when i don't I REGRET it instantly. My pain is terrible. I think once we get banded, it will be different and then we have to learn what foods our particular bodies can tolerate. Hope I answered your question. best, Helen
  8. Hello, I have been banded on April 2, 08 in Tijuana by Dr. Ortiz. Everything was great. I have only lost about 8 lbs since then. Of course, I haven't had a fill yet. I am just now noticing that I am starting to get my old appetite back, so I think it's time for my first fill. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here and hearing the good/the bad/and the ugly. My best to all of you, Helen:cool2:

    Cost of Band removal?

You should look on the internet to see what doctors in this field are available close to you. Then just call their office and ask. I found a fill doctor that way, although I was banded in Mexico. I know some doctors don't want to see patients who didn't go to them from the get-go, but others will. Good luck, Helen
  10. I really think you need to get back to your doctor again - you are having much reflux - they need to be more helpful and I guess you should demand it. Good luck, Helen

Hi, I'm too new to lap banding to have run into problems such as yours, however since you mentioned not liking your doctor, you should be sure to get to another. Have you been doing all it takes to make this work? Do you eat small meals, chew, chew, chew, drink tons of Water and exercise? If your lap band slipped you want to get that fixed. Plus you shouldn't be going through all you have gone through without seeking professional help. You can get on the forum and ask if anybody knows of another lapband doctor in your area who will be willing to do an xray to look at your band and then to refill it if all is well and take other action if not. I know I am going for my first fill in Florida soon and the total cost with xray will only be $305.00. Without xray the doctor charges $75.00. However, in your case you need an xray. Best of luck, Keep us posted. Helen:lol:
  13. Hi, I haven't had my first fill yet and so far I can eat tangerines, salad, veggies etc. I am just starting to get my appetite back and so that is why I think I am ready for a fill also. From what I gather, it seems, for the most part, we will be eating very little fruit and veggies. Since I like both, I am going to try to have a Protein drink every am for Breakfast and then some veggies/fruit with lunch and supper. The Protein Drink with high protein/low fat milk will account for over 50 grams of protein - so I'm hoping that between that and some fish and/or meat I will be getting enough protein to keep the weight loss going. We shall see. I'll be interested to see how you do also. Helen
  14. Hi Susan, I do have a quick question. I just, this minute, drank my first diet soda since being banded and I had no problem with it. I have heard so many horror stories - so what might happen to me now? Helen
