3 months in and first dumping
Avery's Mom replied to LosingitLondon's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Ok I hate to ask...but Dumping? is that code for urgent bathroom need? Vicious! I have only had one bout so far if that is the case. Early on while still in puree stage. -
Yep! my bariatric vitamins provided are chewables to increase absorption! When I ran out and had not received my second bottle yet I used my son's flinstones! lol
-
I am glad you checked in with your doctor! They really are a big help! Sounds like you have a firm plan in place and are headed for great success!

2-3 lbs a week is a really good rate.

I will be taking new measurements tomorrow, I usually do it the first of each month so I imagine I will see some changes, as I have stepped up my exercise. so I am chalking it up to gaining muscle mass loll BUT still giving up the Diet Coke again

Wanda247 is right! Protein and hydration should still be your focus right now but you are doing great! It will be trial and error most likely, it was for me, on what you can tolerate!
-
Very pricey but I have friends who have used it

I have only felt 'overfull' on two occasions and it was that one more bite that put me over the edge. it was one of those things I knew but I did it anyway,. I struggle with visual vs weight of portions. I need to go back to weighing them.

Time goes by so slow
Avery's Mom replied to robynsch's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was lucky that once I got my insurance approval it went pretty quick. what took FOREVER was the 6 months supervised diet I was required to do. -
they look good but too many carbs for me!
-
Doc gave me the OK as long at it doesn't bloat me or make me sick. I have had ZERO issues eating, drinking, no nausea, and most days I struggle to get in my allotted calorie count. I feel very lucky in that regard. Just have to figure out what I am doing that has made me stall!

How do I know I'm not being impulsive?
Avery's Mom replied to Pippa1703's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, I had to go thru a 6 month supervised diet with my primary before I could be approved. plenty of time to think it over lol -
Anyone else experience this?
Avery's Mom replied to FancyChristine15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
4 days postop I ended back in the hospital with low potassium and dehydration. I cut them in 3rds and freeze them then puree with a bit of almond milk, basically like banana ice cream. I put a scoop in my protein drink each morning. -
omg yum
