Angie, I get an error when I try to type a name into DM. If you DM I will respond. I think the app has a glitch

I love knowing people by name, thx for introducing yourselves. Iโm 49 so right between you guys. I decided to start practicing not drinking 30 minutes before/during/after meals. I told my nutritionist that and chewing slowly are going to be hard for me to get used to. Iโm trying to think of things that will have to change after surgery and get used to them now.

Thx for introducing yourselves. I got crazy nervous after I got my date too Poppyseed but itโs calmed down. Sounds like we are in the place right now!!

I am the 27th and Iโm in Nashville TN

My surgery is March 27th. You didnโt make me doubt anything. I think itโs helpful to hear that the weight doesnโt just drop off everyone. I can see how easy it would be to get frustrated. A year from now you will be a different person and these feelings will be a distant memory. Your husband deserves a gold star for being so supportive. I hope you get a loss soon!!!

I am scared this will happen to me too. I say just keep plugging along, eventually your body will have to give it up. Iโm sorry you arenโt seeing the results you expected

I have zero insight on your insurance issue but I just wanted to say Iโm sorry for your setback. I will say I went through an extensive program to be prequalified for my insurance. And when I finally went to the surgeon I still had to do all their requirements which is an additional 3 months. So they may want you to check all their boxes but I hope not. Good luck!!

Me too for March 27th and I found out officially today that the insurance issue is resolved. It will be here before we know it!!!

Coworker Flat Out Asked If I Had WLS
49Nash replied to Swanton_Bomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Iโm expecting this question from my MIL. Iโm going to ask her why she is asking and why she thinks discussing my weight (gain or loss) is any of her business. If she has the nerve to continue then I will tell her that even though itโs absolutely non of her business, yes I did. And Iโm leaving it at that. I say itโs ok to be rude to anyone asking you just to be nosy. -
Thank you for the welcome. Iโm excited to have a date but my anxiety level went through the roof after getting an actual date. Anyone else feel this way?

2.5 years post sleeve and major struggles
49Nash replied to EmilyJune's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You should just pay the extra money and keep store roasted chicken and precooked hard boiled eggs in the house. Then you know you donโt have to do anything. You deserve the extra luxury with all the work you are doing. A lot of times Costco has precooked chicken legs/thighs that are dirt cheap -

As a nurse practitioner I know first hand how difficult and stressful nursing school is without adding a horrific work schedule, kids and WLS in the mix. Sounds to me like you are overwhelmed by everything and cooking is too much for you. Have you tried cooking healthy foods for yourself and having them ready to heat up? I have to say I also have children and I just had to change the types of food that are in the house. If itโs something I just canโt resist or had to be frozen or refrigerated itโs not allowed in the house. I let them keep snacks upstairs because I am an out of sight out of mind kind of person. But there have been a few things (like donuts) that I would go seek them out so I banned them from the house. It took me so long to get over the guilt, thinking they shouldnโt be deprived and I should have the willpower to resist but the truth is I donโt have the will power and they are surviving just fine without the junk food. I figure my husband can go get it and eat it out of the house if they really want ice cream or something like that. I wish you luck and good luck with nursing school!!! -
Weird Stuff That Delayed Your Surgery Approval
49Nash replied to ๐ บ๐ ธ๐ ผ๐ ผ๐ ธ๐ ด๐ บ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Although I hate waiting for my surgery date I actually think the multiple appointments including nutrition and psychology have been a good thing. My pre-program has been extensive but I feel I am mentally prepared for giving up these foods. I worked with a psychologist and made changes on a personal and family level that I wish I had made years ago. So for me I know I would not be as successful had I went to one appointment and then had surgery. In fact my nutrition classes were the least helpful for me since I KNOW what is healthy, I just wasnโt doing it. Glad to know you have free medical care, that is a whole different discussion for a whole different forum!!!๐ -

Did you hear anything yet? I am in the same boat. Insurance is approved and I did all the requirements. Just need to wait that final step of them reviewing everything. I was told my doctor schedules about 6 weeks after everything is approved. So Iโm thinking beginning of April. At least I hope so. I would do it sooner in a heartbeat though!!! -

My doctor does not schedule the surgery until you have completed all requirements and Iโm not sure about the insurance because I had approval already and after all requirements a NP reviews everything. Then I think they schedule the surgery. Iโm between finished appointments and NP review now. This is the hardest wait time for me. Iโm ready for a date so I can get mentally prepared and start a countdown -

Iโm new to this forum and I canโt figure out how to reply to the question about Hpylori. But yes, you have to take 2 different antibiotics and reflux meds for 2 weeks and a probiotic for a month. They retest one month after you complete the antibiotics to make sure you are negative. I was worried it would still be positive (since I had no symptoms and only mild reflux when i tested positive). If so I would have had to repeat the whole thing and be retested in 6 more weeks. I also had to have cardiac clearance but I did that a long time ago -

It didnโt delay me but I was Hpylori positive. My recheck was the date of my last appointment and it negative (luckily). Just waiting for my surgery date now -
I am 49 and hoping to get my surgery date soon. Iโm a super slow at weight loss, so Iโm worried Iโm going to get frustrated after surgery if I lose slow.
-
I get your frustration! I have completed all my appointments (last one was today) and I was really hoping to get a surgery date. Now they said the NP has to review everything and they have 2 weeks. I know itโs not the end of the world and two weeks one way or the other isnโt going to make a difference. But Iโm disappointed today. I hope you hear from the nurse soon!!!

Hope it went well
